The Left lost their sense of humor years ago and now every minor official and functionary with a D after their name behaves as if they are Soviet commissars. Take Barb Byrum for example, the Democratic clerk of Ingham County MI. She wants to prosecute a woman in Mason, a small town outside Lansing, for a joke. From The Detroit News:
Official: Toilet display in Mason mocking mail-in voting is a crime
A Michigan resident’s apparent joke showing disdain for voting by mail is no laughing matter for one election official.
The resident put a toilet on their lawn with a sign that says, “Place mail in ballots here.”
The clerk (D) sprung into action:
Barb Byrum, the Democratic clerk of Ingham County, filed a complaint with police over the display,
Wait a minute, aren’t Democrats in favor of defunding the police? Who’s going to investigate this scurrilous complaint?
saying it could mislead people who aren’t familiar with the voting system.
Good grief, could you be any more condescending to your constituents? And honestly, if they are so ‘unfamiliar with the voting system’ as to mistake a toilet in someone’s front yard for a USPS mailbox perhaps they are not qualified to vote in the first place.
“It is a felony to take illegal possession of an absentee ballot,” Byrum said Friday.
Do you know what else is a felony in Michigan? Voting twice. Although that possibly applies only to Republicans.
“Elections in this country are to be taken seriously and there are many people who are voting by mail for the first time this election,” she said.
That’s probably because thousands of residents, like me, received unsolicited, 1) an application to register to vote with my surname and somebody else’s first name, and 2) several weeks later, an application for an absentee ballot in the same fake name. Something stinks around here, and it’s coming from a toilet, just not the one on somebody’s lawn in Mason.
As far as I can tell there’s been no burning, rioting or looting; looks like a peaceful protest to me.

When I went to work as a contractor for a former ITT company I had to sign a multipage “ethics” document that was, in essence, a contract stating I agreed to be terminated for violating any of the company “ethics.” One of the things I agreed not to do was, “under any circumstances” tell a joke. I stopped reading, looked up at the very annoyed (because I was reading the document) HR lady and said, “Why can’t I tell a joke?” Wide-eyed and serious she said, “Because you have NO IDEA who you might offend.” I was thinking “I don’t really give a $hit.” Knowing that wasn’t a good response and needing the job, I signed the document.
But the Left, and you couldn’t get much farther left than this company without actually working for the CCP directly, has zero sense of humor.
GD put us through a course training us not to make fun of people, meaning for all practical purposes, it was unsafe to tell any joke beyond something a grade school kid would find funny. (Possibly fart jokes were okay but certainly risky.)

If anyone dares to even charge the homeowner with any infraction, sue in federal court for deprivation of rights under color of law. That specifically includes suing Barb Byrum PERSONALLY.
