AMAC Small Business Newsletter; Are they going the way of AARP?

Posted on 09/13/2020 1:29:35 PM PDT by AbolishCSEU

I received my AMAC Small Business Newsletter (I run a small business as my second job) and low and behold there's an article on "hiring tips."

https://amacsmallbiz.com/9-steps-to-hiring-the-right-person/

I read along and a Ron Rapatalo who has contributed to the article and was quoted: "Recruit with a focus on tapping underrepresented groups (BIPOC, LGBTQIA, etc). Build an inclusive hiring process that will give you multiple perspectives on a candidate to make an informed decision. -Ron Rapatalo, Edgility Consulting

I had to comment by saying "since when is one's proclivities part of the hiring process?"

Has AMAC gone the way of AARP?

I have always wondered how one is supposed to determine someone’s sexual proclivity.

Are you even allowed to ask that question?

This stuff seems straight out of Kafka.

it sounds like a real shame if the second senior insurance type outfit is going down the same leftist sewer that the first one did

we hope very much this is not going to stick

Well you can’t ask one’s marital status on a job interview. I guess the interviewee would have to be wearing he/she clothing and a rainbow flag pin. Usually seven different colors of hair give it away as well.

This is more a measure of how social justice has corrupted Human Resources via the social sciences and academia in general.

Well you can’t ask one’s marital status on a job interview.

I remember a quick interview I did with a guy of Asian decent at one of those college job-fair days in Florida. My company did a lot of classified work so I asked him if he was eligible to work in the United States. He was outraged! He yelled, "I'm an American citizen"! He calmed down after I told him I wasn't allowed to ask that.

How could a small business (or any business) afford to do anything other than hire the best qualified person for the job? Makes no sense.
