Here’s another one that I’ll be adding the next time I update my list. You can read my current list at Here are 196 reasons why Im against the COVID-19 lockdowns
These are the total, cumulative death rates per million population for COVID-19 for the U.S. and Sweden, as of September 7, 2020:

U.S. 583
Sweden 577
Sweden never had a lockdown.
And Sweden never required people to wear masks.
In fact, Sweden never even recommended that people wear masks.
Thanks.
Old data. Spain, UK and Spain are now all worse than Sweden and France most likely will pass Sweden at some point.
And isn't that the whole point of the herd immunity argument.
As time goes on, nations that shutdown will spike again, while Sweden, a nation that didn't shutdown, won't.
Your example of a surge of wins at the end of a baseball season isn't a good one.
The season isn't ending as you say. Most of Europe is spiking with a second wave. Sweden isn't.
If you want to expand the timeframe of the analogy, then the All-Star break is over and Baltimore seems to be winning some games at this time while others are losing. They're still second-to-last. Hopefully they'll find a way to keep winning.
And, again, I want Sweden's approach to win because I prefer freedom to statism. But a little of integrity goes a long way.
