More proof that the lockdown is a scam: Sweden, which never had a lockdown, or a mask mandate, now has a lower total, cumulative per capita COVID-19 death rate than the U.S.

Yet it has the second highest in Europe after Belgium excluding micro nations.

Old data. Spain, UK and Spain are now all worse than Sweden and France most likely will pass Sweden at some point.

And isn't that the whole point of the herd immunity argument.

As time goes on, nations that shutdown will spike again, while Sweden, a nation that didn't shutdown, won't.

But please...to cheer about SE is comparable to cheering about the Baltimore Orioles in 2019 having a surge of wins at the season's end garnering them the second worst win percentage out of 30 teams.

Your example of a surge of wins at the end of a baseball season isn't a good one.

The season isn't ending as you say. Most of Europe is spiking with a second wave. Sweden isn't.

I agree the game isn't over but we were talking about a point in time. In that context, it's a fair analogy...SE got a little better recently by racking up relatively more wins, i.e., lower fatalies per capita versus the US. Sweden is still in the cellar but the article intimates that SE is now the World Series champ.

If you want to expand the timeframe of the analogy, then the All-Star break is over and Baltimore seems to be winning some games at this time while others are losing. They're still second-to-last. Hopefully they'll find a way to keep winning.

And, again, I want Sweden's approach to win because I prefer freedom to statism. But a little of integrity goes a long way.
