My only question is this -- There were obviously more than two police officers behind Blake, why shoot him? They could have simply subdued and overpowered him before he could enter the driver's side and handcuff him.

After fighting the officers and walking away, he suddenly lunged into the vehicle. Do you want to wrestle someone who very well could have just gone for his gun and can shoot you as you wrestle?

This one is on Blake, but trying getting the BLM goons to realize that.

So he was known to be violent, was violent and was entering auto that contained kids which could be used as hostages?

If he had a blade, they’d be reluctant to grab him.

They tried to subdue him, even tazed him and he got away from them. There is a photo that clearly shows a karambit knife in his left hand though I don't know if it's been verified.

He then opens the car door and appears to be reaching for something on the floor.

Don't know if this was justified or not by their training but obviously they can't let him get in the car, with kids, and put them at risk or to use the vehicle as a weapon or retrive a weapon from the vehicle.

I'm sure the last thing any White cop wants to do in this day and age is shoot a black person.

Somewhere I read that there were kids in the car and that they were not his. I don’t know if all of that is true or not.

But if he could have gotten to those kids then they could have become hostages for him to use as shields.

It’s because he had a knife he was carrying in his left hand. If you listen to the videos you can hear them yelling drop the knife.

Blake was stomping around and putting on a show.

He was trying to act like an NBA player.

The NBA should be sued for this.

"someone called police to report that Blake was at her home and wasn’t supposed to be"

Was there a restraining order?

He appeared to be reaching for something in his car - that's why he was shot in the back - they didn't want him to turn around and open fire on them.

He was a feral, he needed to be put down.

Muy narrative. So PD knew who they subject was, probably looked/were sent up a description on the in car computer which included his warrant and prior encounters with police.

He had a know history that would put any officer on alert.

These feral beasts will riot over anything. Meanwhile in my neighborhood we all go to bed at 10PM because someone has to work so these welfare fricken losers can exist. They extend to the suburbs it won’t be fun for them. We value our sleep, homes, families, jobs and lives.

“They could have simply subdued and overpowered him before he could enter the driver’s side and handcuff him.”

And you have “simply” subdued, overpowered, and handcuffed how many people?

Sometimes things are easier to imagine than to do.

A long time ago, I did security work in nightclubs for years and was a little more well paid than most. Controlling a violent subject without a weapon is often more difficult than it would seem.

The job was very different from movie portrayals of bouncers. Talking and acting in certain ways was always the first effort and was most often effective. [Always smiling] [”Everything’s fine. We’re okay! Let’s talk, buddy. We’ll be fine!”]

Took up to about 15 minutes to get a few of the bigger ones out. I wouldn’t have wanted to tangle with them while wearing a weapon. And some of the skinnier ones were generally more potentially dangerous (hitting, kicking, possibly trained, etc.).

With any wrestling, a suspect might possibly grab the weapon. Big no-no, unless you have a lot of help. Even if a cop has some martial arts experience, the bad guy might have more physical training, youth or strength.

Handcuffing some people, by the way, can be rather difficult, if they don’t cooperate. [Little experience a long time ago there, too. ...duty.]

According to reports Blake had already been tazed but that did not subdue him. How many officers do you think it would have taken to subdue him in light of that fact? How many were supposed to put their own lives in danger?

why shoot him?

Blake brandished a deadly weapon, and that’s just the first reason!
