CDC CHANGES ASYMPTOMATIC TESTING RECOMMENDATIONS

The CDC has changed its recommendations as to testing asymptomatic people for COVID-19. The following is the new guidance from the CDC:

If you have been in close contact (within 6 feet) of a person with a COVID-19 infection for at least 15 minutes but do not have symptoms: You do not necessarily need a test unless you are a vulnerable individual or your health care provider or State or local public health officials recommend you take one. A negative test does not mean you will not develop an infection from the close contact or contract an infection at a later time. You should monitor yourself for symptoms. If you develop symptoms, you should evaluate yourself under the considerations set forth above. You should strictly adhere to CDC mitigation protocols, especially if you are interacting with a vulnerable individual. You should adhere to CDC guidelines to protect vulnerable individuals with whom you live. If you do not have COVID-19 symptoms and have not been in close contact with someone known to have a COVID-19 infection: You do not need a test....

Good - this will help avoid people wasting their time getting stupid tests.

* “or your health care provider or State or local public health officials recommend you take one.” *

Clickbait stupidity LOL!
Like wearing a mask, sometimes it’s a good idea- depends on the situation and what’s going on in your area.

Sounds like basic common sense.

Do we really pay these people?

If you have symptoms you should not be out in public.

If you don’t have symptoms, you don’t need to wear a dad-blasted MASK!

they want us to stop testing those who are largely NOT symptomatic, and are therefore not likely to die, so that the death rate per case does not continue to drop like a rock... which IS happening...

its over CDC and WHO... communist organizations working in concert with the chicoms and democrat parties... one and the same...

Tell that to the stupid Teladoc physician that just flagged me and my medical records for high risk and showing symptoms. I’m not either. Ended up going to get a freaking test (negative) because God forbid something happen and they came back and asked if I was tested.

Yet I still see people online locally wanting to get tested for giggles even though they only gout out for groceries and wear a mask, face shield and gloves.

I have a friend whose son works with a man who was experiencing COVID-like symptoms. The man was tested twice, as was my friend’s son, and both tested negative both times. Because the co-worker was still experiencing symptoms, he was tested a third time and the test was positive. My friend’s son was also tested a third time. The results took approximately 10-12 days to arrive. In the meantime, the whole family (their 3 sons and their families), was getting ready to go on a pre-paid vacation together. When they finally got the test results back, it was positive, but the doctor told my friend’s son, that since he had already passed the contagious stage, that he would be able to join his family on vacation. I’ve never trusted the test kits from the beginning, because their results have just been too unreliable, and since that unreliability is still an issue, what’s the sense of even giving the test?

Our pesky Nextdoor site sends out constant reminders....to go get tested.

They’re going overboard, in our smallish community.

Why would a teledoc doc flag you, if you hadn’t even been tested?

Was it a Covid tele appt?

“Do we really pay these people?”

Way too much, in money and attention. Good news is, in my work as a home contractor, I see many people willing to mask up if I want them to, but virtually no one requesting that I do so. I think a whole lot more people are living by their good common sense than what we are shown on the Establishment Manure-Spreader.

Given the percentage of false positives yielded by the tests, there should also be a corresponding drop in total “cases”; all one needs to create “cases” is tests, if the term “case” is defined as a positive test result, without separating out false positives.

In Washington State, only 6% of people who are tested have the virus. Seems like it has a very low transmission rate. But that won’t stop the Covid-fearful from freaking out daily.

Do we really pay these people?

Sadly we do.

And rather large amounts too.

They urged my husband to have a KungFlu test because he was having "breathing trouble".

He was having breathing trouble because he got into poison ivy and is highly allergic.

Which he had told them and that was the reason he came in.

Thankfully our doctor, who is blessed with two extra senses (horse and common), asked him a couple of questions and told the hovering techs to go away and quit bothering the man.
