The author of the article, Mark Finkelstein, had it right. Bannon’s arrest was timed to coincide with the Democratic national convention. However I noticed the main stream press didn’t protest that arrests shouldn’t be political as some are afraid that “obama gate” arrests will be. His speech might have worked if Joe Biden hadn’t been a U.S. senator from 1973 to 2009. Voters can ask “What did you do to improve the economy in those years? Did you vote to cut taxes?” Scarborough should have known better than to compare Biden to Reagan.

I was thinking the same thing, seriously. Could Biden have been given some sort of short-term medication to get him through the speech in reasonably coherent condition?

There were rumors and snide remarks when Reagan was at the age Joe Biden now is, that his mental facilities were already slipping. The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s was not made until Reagan was 83 years of age, but he had left office while still younger than Joe Biden is today.
Joe Biden is on a very short leash already.
