Just when you think a story about leftist activism cant possibly get any worse, it inevitably proves you wrong. That is certainly the case with yesterdays story about Goodyear, and its efforts to indoctrinate its employees by endorsing the propaganda of the openly-Marxist Black Lives Matter domestic terrorist group.
For those who may have missed it, here is the central aspect of that story:
But that consideration of ever buying from Goodyear ended this morning when news broke about a new attire policy the company has adopted for its employees. Check out this graphic:
So, its perfectly fine for Goodyear employees to wear clothing endorsing BLM, an openly-Marxist domestic terrorist group funded by front groups for George Soros and the Democrat Party. But it is not ok for those same employees to wear attire endorsing law enforcement or their desire to make America great again. You seriously cannot make this stuff up, folks.
[End]
As I noted in that post yesterday, Goodyear management responded to the story by issuing a mealy-mouthed statement denying the slide had been distributed by the companys corporate office, but not denying that it in fact reflects formal company policy. In other words, exactly what you would expect from a company that is guilty of the accusation.
VDO.AI This morning, the story got even worse for the company. Check out this clip that was aired by OANN:
That is a leaked recording of an actual internal Goodyear training seminar. In the recording you clearly hear the speaker who is without any question at all communicating company policy openly telling people that the company outright endorses race-based discrimination, telling the employees that wearing black lives matter or LGBTQ pride on their face coverings, shirts or wristbands will be deemed appropriate However, if any associate wears all, blue or white lives matter shirts or face coverings, that will be not appropriate.
Get it? Black lives good, white lives bad.
Not only is this policy advocating actual race-based discrimination reprehensible, it is also very likely completely illegal under U.S. law. The company could probably get away with denying the right to wear shirts or other clothing displaying slogans like blue lives matter and all lives matter, but directly punishing employees for for white lives matter stuff could truly be a bridge too far.
All of which explains why the only intelligent policy for a company to adopt is a policy against any sloganeering in the workplace. But at Goodyear, it is obvious that the temptation for management to engage in politically-correct virtue signaling was too strong to resist.
Let the lawsuits begin.
That is all.
“Am expecting some to tell us Goodyear tires are good enough to offset their stance...”
I have never purchased Goodyear brand tires because everything I have ever heard about them is that they are crummy tires. Now I DEFINITELY will never buy any of their products.
Yep. I’m seeing the usual lines around the corner at our closest CFA here in a county Trump won by 10% in 2016. Conservatives talk a good game until it impacts they daily lives. Just look at the NFL. Attendance and enthusiasm last season returned to pre-Kaepernick levels.
I don’t believe that the 4th quarter nor the entire 2021 bottom line will be a “Good Year” for Goodyear
Some companies do just that. No political anything on company property. Period.
But a company has to be prepared to enforce it.
Some are.
What is a step a CEO could take if he wished to reduce the trading stock price so that he or Goodyear Corp. or China could purchase stock?
Could be Goodyear's management is now much like Disney's... Plum full of faggots..
If I owned a company with employees, I would never subject them to this.
I believe it is a hostile work environment.
What is a step a CEO could take if he wished to reduce the trading stock price so that he or Goodyear Corp. or China could purchase stock?
No, they didn't. And revenue stagnated.
Let the DoJ investigate Badyear as a defense contractor for racial bias. Let the fun begin
Sooo
We bought a new Motor home with Goodyear tires on it.
Rode terribly.
Looked and rode like Fred Flintstones car with square wheels.
Just replaced the crappy goodyear tires with Toyo and they are great.
Chik Fil A suggested we wash black people’s feet? when????
Will be interesting to see how much “we” like Nascar after November.
Boycotts are an individual decision, nothing else. We aren’t the stupid Leftist Borg with their pathetic attempt at hive mentality.
To expect them to be more than that is naive and silly...so to have an expectation that a preponderance of people on Free Republic are going to do something a certain way with respect to doing business with entities is a form of mental masturbation.
We are individuals, not a collective. At our core, we don’t believe in forcing or compelling people to choose where to buy chicken sandwiches and from whom to buy car tires.
We don’t always agree with that choice. But for true conservatives, that is a personal choice, not a collective choice.
Actually Goodyear tires are not good enough to offset their stance.
“Conservatives talk a good game until it impacts they daily lives.”
Yes. Same for Christians. The narrow path is much more difficult.
A Hussein Head reporter asked Kaleigh yesterday about the Goodyear tires on the President’s Beast.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidential_state_car_(United_States)
“The Obama/Trump presidential state car was speculated to be much heavier than its predecessor as it is equipped with Goodyear Regional RHS tires that are usually reserved for medium- and heavy-duty trucks; speculated weights range from 15,000 to 20,000 pounds (6,800 to 9,100 kg).”
