I hope you are loaded up and prepared to go. It might even be a good idea to get out now while you can. Then you don’t have to get stuck in traffic, smoke or walls of fire. The air will be easier to breath too. Take what’s important and valuable. In the meantime, be safe everyone affected.

Have a good evacuation route planned, don’t wait until the flames are at your patio door to bug out, be sure to prioritize your loved ones and pets, have cold cash in your wallet, pack essentails like water and essential meds. Pack a CCW and an extra clip if you can. An extra burner phone from Dollar General is always good. Something like birth certificates can be replaced; you can’t. Survival first, last, and always. God and Free Republic have your back for the rest. Good Luck!

My late husband and I lived in that area when our children were younger, as did one of my sisters. I’m so sad to see it burning.

I have advised friends for years to have all of their important papers in ONE container.
Birth certs, marriage & divorce papers, registrations for vehicles, deeds & papers on real estate.
ANYTHING that can be difficult or impossible to replace.
I use a medium size Rubbermaid container, I have marked it
EMERGENCY TAKE.
House next door was torched 5 years go.
FIRST item I took out of the house was that container.
Second, attached dually to horse trailer.
Third, rounded up horses & loaded them.
Went to neighbor’s house a mile +++ way for 2 hours & left horses in trailer while firemen put out fire & mopped up.
I live rural & have acreage for my horses. Several friends in N Calif KNOW they can come here without even calling me first.
Also people in a 100 miles range of me here in N Nevada. Fires are also common here, depending on how much Juniper is around your property. One friend is actually a dispatcher for the Forest Service.
I can park at least 10 horse trailers & trucks here, if necessary.
Have enough containers for water & can put horses that don’t fight into larger paddocks. Otherwise, they can practice ‘camping’ tied to the trailers.
