The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is a leading non-partisan professional association of physicians across the United States.
Today the AAPS filed a motion for a preliminary injunction to compel the release to the public to the public of hydroxychloroquine by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS).
Here are two charts that show how hydroxychloroquine’s effectiveness in treating the coronavirus.

Well, one has to take all of this data with a large grain of salt. In the US, there have been large financial incentives to code any death as a Covid death whenever possible, which may have pushed US numbers up. And under-reporting is possible in other places.
But what does seem compelling is the information that is slowly leaking out regarding low-dose, early treatment with HCQ+Zinc. It’s not the “gold standard” of blind control trials, but there’s a clear signal that, at this point, is very unlikely to not reflect some positive therapeutic effects.
Add to that the Indian studies showing strong effects as prophylaxis, again with low doses.
The left continues to howl that HCQ will give you a heart attack and take your sight, which is crazy. This stuff has been so widely used, and is so safe in low doses and for short courses of medication that it’s sold OTC all over the world. They are simply lying, knowing that the rare ill effects are only ever seen after many years of use (or overdose).
The other line of argument is “if you take it for COVID, there won’t be enough for my aunt who has lupus”. Which, on its face, is absurd. There’s no shortage, and the Zelenko protocol consists of a grand total of 10 HCQ pills over 5 days. Simple arithmetic proves them wrong.
How many more Americans are going to be denied this treatment so the left can “get Trump”?

What makes the first chart even more tragic is France, which has one of the highest Covid-19 mortality rates in the world, was the country where the great Dr. Didier Raoult actually did his research on Hydroxychloroquine plus Azithromycin by treating over a thousand patients that showed its efficacy for treating Covid-19. This study was performed at IHU Méditerranée Infection, Marseille, France. A cohort of 1061 COVID-19 patients, treated for at least 3 days with the Hydroxychloroquine-Azithromycin (HCQ-AZ) combination and a follow-up of at least 9 days was investigated.
Instead of being treated as a hero for his work, he was instead IGNORED at best and at worst, attacked and belittled.
In a saner world, he and Dr. Zelenko should have been nominated for a Nobel Prize in Medicine.
Hmm. Look at Russia’s numbers. Maybe if we claimed that Trump was conspiring with Russia to keep HCQ from Americans to make Russia’s Covid numbers look good we can get the Demonrats to do an about face on HCQ.
Maybe Trump should troll-tweet something to this effect.

HCQ is extremely effective in the early disease state and even more effective per exposure. In the late disease state it makes little difference. It is a great drug used early in an infection.
I personally used this drug for years when I worked in Nigeria. It prevented me from catching malaria. All the other guys on the drilling rig also took it. Oddly it was on the breakfast table with instructions on how to use it. I had my own supply from my doctor, but the instructions were exactly the same. The bosses did not want us to get sick with malaria.
