I saw they were on. I missed them though. Sometimes I don’t watch tv because I get too antsy to sit still.
RE:No, not me, I have never patronized these symbols of decadence. I am speaking of the masses.
You don’t believe that there are more than enough people like you and me to make a dent in their business ?
Once upon a time, up until the 90s, there were. Now, we are no longer the silent majority - we are the silent minority, fighting a losing cultural battle. So I don't think there are enough people like us to make a dent. Besides, all 3 of these are international institutions, and the US share of their business is shrinking. China looms large for all 3 businesses.
RE: Now, we are no longer the silent majority - we are the silent minority, fighting a losing cultural battle.
Then I think you also believe that Joe Biden will be the inevitable winner of this coming Presidential elections.
I would not say "inevitable", because miracles and divine intervention can happen. It is better to say "probable" at this point.
The trouble is, so many of the makers facilitate the breakers. The administration should make it clear that in areas where police protection is sacrificed for the population, federal “police” protection for companies in those locations will be curtailed. That means protection for trademarks, patents, and copyrights will wane. Nike and the NFLNBAMLB can suck it if somebody clones their designs. Hollywood can suck it if people copy and distribute their intellectual property.
RE: It is better to say “probable” at this point.
Then why can’t you say that Victor Davis Hanson is “probably” right instead of categorically saying that he’s wrong?
That is because I am more sanguine about politics than I am about culture. VDH is making a cultural argument, and we (Christians and people adhering to classical values) have been losing the cultural battle for 200 years.
From your lips to God’s ears!
Just like Kaepernick kneeling killed the NFL a few years ago.
And everyone's going to go to vocational schools now?
One man or a very small number kneeling is one thing. Everybody kneeling (like just happened with the NBA in Orlando) is another matter altogether.
Kaepernick knelt and has never gotten any NFL team to take him since. The Super bowl this year had no one taking the knee.
Why don't you watch where NFL ratings and attendance (what attendance? ) when all of them start disrespecting the flag?
Who said that?
VHD never said that. I read the entire article.
There will always be universities to train doctors engineers physicists chemists etc.
However after the lockdowns, there will be a huge contraction in university attendance. I fully expect many universities not to survive the financial strain.
The pretty useless courses like LGBQT studies, social studies and what not are going to find themselves much less in demand. More young people arr going to opt to be trained as construction workers, electrical workers, plumbers etc which give them immediate high paying jobs.
Best movie ever made.
Yeah, vocational school.
That's quite a world you envision with STEM elites and manual workers and not much in between.
Colleges and universities are in big trouble. Many of them have stopped contributing to faculty retirement accounts and they have cut salaries. I wouldn’t be surprised to see half the private colleges go out of business.
STEM jobs going to filthy Indians and VoTech jobs going to Mexicans. Not much of an opportunity for Americans.
