Empty shelves in American stores less than 100 days before the election
NOQ Report ^ | July 31, 2020 | Gary Gindler

<...>

Many Americans are well aware that in their cities, the power belongs not just to leftists, not only to outspoken communists but also fanatics, ideological whackos with ideas of the world revolution. What will American citizens do? They, in fact, have already done, and have already decided this.

America has gorged its fill of decapitated and mutilated statues, looting and marauding left-wing barbarians, and demands the restoration of order. Democrats already seem to know who won this year’s election, and the pathetic attempt to revolutionize America is simply an instinctive collective reaction of leftism to its future loss. But what can act as a precise, objective measure of this loss?

Go to many stores in America, and you will see empty shelves. The situation is reminiscent of empty store shelves in the Soviet Union. Of course, this does not apply to clothe or food stores – the shelves there are packed to capacity as if nothing were happening.

In America, only gun shops have empty shelves.

Scarcity is a word practically unknown to the Americans, but well known to everyone who lived behind the Iron Curtain. Now there is a deficit in America too – supply does not keep pace with demand for firearms. In the first half of this year, weapons sales grew 80% compared to the first half of 2019, with about half of these purchases made by first-time buyers.

Most importantly, women have made a record number of gun purchases this year.

“Canned food is not good over 10 years and I would not have used all the canned food he had. I just threw it out after a large can of Pineapple juice exploded and made the biggest mess. “

I don’t necessarily agree with about the expiration of canned food, but I did share your experience with canned fruit. I had several cans of peaches and pineapple explode. Worst part is I had it stored in totes and didn’t know about the problem for quite some tine. It was pretty disgusting.

You better be planning to collect ammo off the corpses of your opponents. If you have only 900 rounds, that's barely enough for a decent firefight.
I'm well into 5 figures and I feel under-supplied.

Your garage? :-)

Wal-Mart where I am can’t keep canned vegetables stocked.

Where is 'where I am'?

Where I am - SW Mo sort of - can't get canning lids or vinegar. Actually we did get vinegar - got lucky i guess but still can't find canning lids and bands. Apparently I can order them online for $12.99 a dozen but even Ball brand at Walmart used to be $3.49. They have a cheaper brand but they've been out of those for awhile. No way am I paying $12.99 - ridiculous

Hint: you can get great deals on Uncle Ben’s and Aunt Jemima at Big Lots and other second hand stores right now.

I’ve got lots but most of them are in use at the moment.

A friend gave me several boxes of jars she was getting rid of some years ago. I always figure that you can’t have too many canning jars.

Or lids.......

I’ve been able to find the 70% at Wal-Mart and some drug stores, but 91%????

No way, no how.

I’ve noticed a shortage of canned tomatoes. Everywhere.

Not in my basement.

Had a fantastic crop two summers ago. I canned over ten gallons of sauce and some stewed tomatoes.

This year’s crop is looking good but finding quart canning jars is a challenge.

SE WI. I found canning lids and bands at the nearby Wal-Mart here, but I shopped for those a couple months ago. I figured they would be in short supply by later in the summer when people start canning. Now, they’re hard to find because lots more people are canning this year. Pickles, lots of pickles.

I’ve seen a lot more peroxide than rubbing alcohol.

It’s been in grocery stores and Wal-Marts.

Ah yes pickles. We canned lots because it was a banner year for cucumbers in our garden.

I did get some lids and bands earlier but I’m canning much more than I had anticipated. Fortunately I have flats left, been stealing the bands from the already canned stuff. Don’t like to do that but desperate times call for desperate measures. :)

We now live way off the beaten path.

It is most certainly not an area where one would think you’d need ammo for self-defense.

But a couple points.

Without ammo, the gun is useless.

There’s no guarantee that some random person causing trouble might not stumble onto your place. It’s also very likely that you may need to go somewhere less safe.

And there’s also wildlife that may need to be dealt with.

Anyone who lives in the country and is not armed is a fool.
