“Canned food is not good over 10 years and I would not have used all the canned food he had. I just threw it out after a large can of Pineapple juice exploded and made the biggest mess. “

I don’t necessarily agree with about the expiration of canned food, but I did share your experience with canned fruit. I had several cans of peaches and pineapple explode. Worst part is I had it stored in totes and didn’t know about the problem for quite some tine. It was pretty disgusting.

High acid foods do not do well in tin cans.

They can eat through the coating on the inside of the can and then eat the metal, in a process called detinning.

Acidic foods should be stored in glass or at worst, plastic.
