Yep.
They got it in their mind that they are the only ones willing to use violence. They will be shocked how many are willing to and would enjoy using violence on the other side. There are crazy people on both sides. But our side is better armed and there are more of us.
If they for some reason ever make it to my neighborhood they should call their mothers and tell them they are never coming home.
The area is mostly second and third generation blue collar Italians and like chazz palminteri said in A Bronx tale.

Uncle carries an almost new M1 carbine with 20 15rd mags. Fits neatly between the seats and out of sight.

I think most of these guys are us who haven’t realized it yet. I had a odd chat a couple of years back with a guy who seemed to feel as though most people follow the rules because they are sheep as opposed to being because a stable society is more likely to give them what they want than a chaotic society is (if for no better reason than the likelihood that a power vacuum is going to attract a takeover bid by another country with lots of cash and lots of soldiers).
I hope the penny drops soon, but the guys on the West coast have been living in a hot house so long that this probably is too much to hope.

If you need those extra magazines, you are probably in more trouble than they can extract you from. Remember, some of the rioters are carrying firearms too.
I would suggest increasing the pressure on the gas pedal and accelerating away from the mob as fast as possible. Zig-zag for the first 200 yards. The rioters are terrible shots.
If you do happen to knock down a few rioters - don't look back. And the scuff marks will buff right out.

This is my hierarchy.
1. Situational awareness first. A karate guy I know said that the best defensive move of all is “not to be there”. That makes sense.
2. Then comes police-grade pepper spray. I prefer the gel type - there’s less chance of a blow-back. I carry two canisters of the stuff in my car. By the way, I do NOT recommend bear spray or wasp spray. Such sprays might be effective. But their is a maze of federal rules about using it in a manner not intended. It’s on the label. Go with police-grade pepper spray instead. Fox and Sabre are both good brands.
3. And then comes the more lethal methods. I pray that I never have to go there. For their sake, and for my mine. There is nothing glamorous about having to shoot a person.
If there are only people blocking the path to safety, it would likely take no more than a few shots to clear a lane. Anyone left standing could be a valid armed target.
If i couldnt ram my way through id start taking them out until i could ram my way through.
