This is a game changer in the worldwide fight against disease.

The lack of clean drinking water in impoverished areas of the globe contributed more to disease and mortality than COVID19 has or will ever have.

Looks like an improvement to traditional water-from-air (or air-to-water) devices, which require electricity.

As I understand it, the water can contain pollutants from the air, so it is a good idea to filter it. The solar panels also might introduce pollutants. Still better than no water or river water.

Exactly my point. Being driven by solar panels eliminates the need for reliance on an electrical system in the community to produce the water. As to the concern about air pollution rendering the final product “dangerous” if the pollution is too much to drink it really is way to much to breathe

They also require humidity. You ain’t makin’ much water in arid regions with them.

Drinking water from solar panels

Do you glow in the dark?.

Great market analysis. I am not sure if that is correct if the system merely takes in air and performs converts Hydrogen and oxygen into H2O

Huh? The solar panels simply produces the electricity to perform the task

Water from air has been around for more than a decade—with lots of incarnations. The question has always been about cost. This stuff is expensive.

I think they condense water from saturated air if I’m not mistaken. I remember reading a report about them a year or so ago stating just what I said they don’t work well in arid conditions.

Looking deeper...

https://www.zeromasswater.com/rexi/getyours/
A standard SOURCE array is 2 Hydropanels, at an estimated
project cost between $5,500 and $6,500 (including shipping,
installation & tax).*
*This estimate is based on continental US shipping &
installation rates. Orders outside the US will vary by
location.

https://www.zeromasswater.com/rexi/

Says that two panels will fill between 300 and 600
standard 16.9 Oz. bottles each month with pure water.
(Almost 80 - 160 gallons per month?)

Looks like the system is a two panel unit, that holds
up to 30 liters each of water that it extracts using a
modified psychrometric cycle.
https://www.ecoworld.com.au/product-page/water-from-air-sun
How it works:
Ambient air is drawn into SOURCE and water vapor in the
air adsorbs onto advanced hygroscopic materials

Solar thermal power desorbs water from the hygroscopic
materials into amplified water vapor cycling within the
Hydropanel resulting in liquid water formation, flowing
into the reservoir

The collected pure water is mineralized for optimal health
and taste, and the reservoir is actively managed for
cleanliness

Water pumps from the onboard reservoir through a polishing
cartridge and to a dispenser

Each Hydropanel connects to a cloud-based network and is
monitored for performance and quality

Technical Specifications
https://www.zeromasswater.com/rexi/wp-content/uploads/sites/1/2018/11/Technical_1-Pager_2018.pdf

It appears to have a fan. I can’t tell if the rest of it
has moving parts.

Excellent analysis. My guess is the cost of solar panels will be substantially reduced in the coming years as mass production and widespread use increases

I think There is much to be said for a drinking water Production system that does not require an electrical grid connection.
