Looks like an improvement to traditional water-from-air (or air-to-water) devices, which require electricity.

As I understand it, the water can contain pollutants from the air, so it is a good idea to filter it. The solar panels also might introduce pollutants. Still better than no water or river water.

Exactly my point. Being driven by solar panels eliminates the need for reliance on an electrical system in the community to produce the water. As to the concern about air pollution rendering the final product “dangerous” if the pollution is too much to drink it really is way to much to breathe

They also require humidity. You ain’t makin’ much water in arid regions with them.
