August Landmesser Didn't Salute Adolf Hitler in 1936, and MLB Relief Pitcher Sam Coonrod Didn't Kneel to BLM on Opening Day Thursday

In 1936, a German by the name of August Landmesser refused to raise his hand in salute to Adolf Hitler, and he paid a steep price for it. He was put in a Nazi concentration camp, his Jewish wife was also put into a camp, she died and August never saw her or his kids ever again. That’s how much it cost to stand up to fascism in 1936. Giants relief pitcher Sam Coonrod was the only Major League Baseball player on opening day this week to refuse to kneel to the fascists of Black Lives Matter. How much that will cost him is yet to be seen, but it is his reason why he refused to do it that I want to focus on. He’s a Christian who says he will only kneel to God and Jesus Christ.

“But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” Mark 13:9,10 (KJB)

The NY Daily News devoted a whole article ripping Coonrod to pieces, calling him names and basically now making him a target for the BLM militia. They said his refusing to kneel because he only kneels to Jesus Christ was “very stupid”. So what did all those millionaire “christian” ballplayers who constantly point up to the sky when they make the big score do? Nothing, they silently bowed before the fascists, metaphorically spit on the American flag, and towed the party line to preserve their incomes. Cowards each and every one of them.

In an upcoming video, I will be burning my Yankees and Steelers jerseys, worth a lot of money, to make a public stand against this madness. We need to go beyond a mere boycott, as the old saying goes, speak now or forever hold your peace. America is at the crossroads, and trouble is coming from all directions.

The anodyne speech, which contained lines like “In order to achieve effective change and create a new canvas of optimism, empathy must lead the charge,” was apparently still too radical for Coonrod.

“I’M A CHRISTIAN,” COONROD SAID. “I CAN’T GET ON BOARD ON A COUPLE OF THINGS I’VE READ ABOUT BLACK LIVES MATTER, HOW THEY LEAN TOWARD MARXISM AND SAID SOME NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT THE NUCLEAR FAMILY.” SETTING ASIDE THE RIGHT-WING CANARD ABOUT THE STATEMENT “BLACK LIVES MATTER” BEING IDEOLOGICALLY CHARGED, THE GESTURE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BLACK LIVES MATTER.

“I meant no ill will by it,” Coonrod said. “I don’t think I’m better than anybody. I’m just a Christian. I believe I can’t kneel before anything but God, Jesus Christ. I chose not to kneel. I feel if I did kneel I’d be a hypocrite. I don’t want to be a hypocrite.

The tables have turned haven’t they.

It’s how these things always work, at first it was Kaepernick that was compared to Landmesser, when he was first to kneel.
