Today Pharmaceutical giant Gilead announced the pricing for its coronavirus drug remdesivir. Gilead said the drug will cost $520 per vial, or $3,120 for a six-vial treatment.
A previous report at Bloomberg noted the cost to manufacture remdesivir is only $9 per treatment. Hydroxychloroquine is only $1 per treatment!
China started mass producing the drug back in February. They want to cash in on the profits too.

Yup. I'd go the HCQ route. I'll take the "risk" that millions of lupus patients have already taken over these many decades.

good luck getting someone to prescribe it if you are seriously ill in the hospital. It doesn’t work on seriously ill patients
That reminds me. A recent (they do change) statistic stated that 80% of the US population has predisposed immunity to the Wuhan. I figure I am in that category based on my medical history. But as added insurance I am taking a prophylactic placebo.

I would go with those treatments that are advocated for people for whom I have great trust.

For the government or insurance to save 4 days from a hospital, $3 grand is peanuts, a bargain.

Agree, I'm not a fan but people remain unacceptably ignorant of business. Yes It might cost only $9 per dose to make, once you know the magic formula and know it is safe. That little part may cost 2 billion. Add that 2 bil to the $9 per dose and suddenly you have very expensive medication.
People are really dumb in general when it comes to business and the creation of anything knew. Quite a sad state of affairs.
Don't get me wrong, I think there is huge scamming going on here. Mostly in the clear whitewashing of the effectiveness of HCQ. This drug is obviously very effective and they are outright lying about it in the most outrageous way.
When first diagnosed, immediately start HCQ+zinc+antibiotic. Don't wait until you need to go to the hospital. See this FR link:

Yet 5 days of Hydroxy-Ch;oroquine therapy with Zinc Sulfate and Azithromycin costs less than $20.00 and it has been falsely discredited just to sell Remdesivire which is only 30% successful, while HCQ when administered early is 99% successful.
Who is NOT underwhelmed?

All I have read about Remdesivir is that it shortens the recovery time of those that survive by 3-4 days but does not improve the survival rate. It will be a terribly expensive fraud which suits the pharmacology companies and China just fine. Meanwhile there is HCL/Z-Pack which, given early, vastly improves the outcome of the malady and decreases the mortality rate of the disease very substantially at $20 a pop. It is deemed better that thousands more die horribly than that many of them survive due to this politically incorrect drug. DJT should have announced that HCL is noneffective. Then it would be in wide use today.
