I think someone border line Trumpers are very disappointed with what is going on and want it to stop now. People are sick of the Culture Civil War. It shows in these polls. Exactly. I remember back in 2012 when the “generic Republican” was a world beater and we know how that turned out. Democrats basically have a “generic Democrat” now, and it’s clear that their strategy is to hide him as long as possible for that and other reasons (dementia). They need an election with maximal distractions from their candidate like it is now.
On the one hand, I would very much like to see Biden pick the most (seemingly) unelectable VP candidate, such as Stacey Abrams.
However, if he does so and still wins (and as close as this election is going to be it's a possibility), it means that we'll be saddled with de facto President Stacey Abrams as Biden drools in his plastic juice cup and soils his adult diapers. On the other hand, if he picked someone more "likable" and less ideologically extreme, he also has a higher chance of winning, so for us it's a Catch-22.
