Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D-Portland) convened the Oregon legislature into emergency session on Wednesday, which is expected to last two or three days. The agenda has several bills, including HB 4212. That bill includes a clause written by Martha Walters, the chief justice of Oregons Supreme Court, at the request of Brown. This clause will allow Walters to suspend due process for up to sixty days if she deems it necessary during the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of the legislature reining Gov. Brown in after her illegal orders under the CCP coronavirus pandemic, they have proposed to expand the emergency powers of state government.
Theyll totally give them back after the emergency ends, though....More to the point, any emergency going forward can justify the courts suspending due process in any case. Of course, the bill contains an emergency clause, which means it takes effect immediately upon passing and severely limits the power of the people to refer it to the general ballot for a vote....

My name is not Jeff Reynolds.
These DemonKKKrats never liked the Constitution. Through it the states ratified the the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth amendments to the United States Constitution. Since that time, the Dems have concocted every type of shenanigan imaginable. Since Trump has been elected, we have seen first hand what the Dems’ alliance with Marxists has created.
Unfortunately they certainly won’t be using their new powers to arrest Antifa.
I’m so sick of this crap. Downtown Portland looks like a war zone.
Just talking to a friend whose family has been here for generations....they’re all thinking of leaving.
because one of the libtard goals is to prevent non democrats from voting, either by quarantining them using ‘contact tracer’ bs, by suspending due process, doing whatever they think they can to disrupt the ability of people to vote for Trump, and keeping as many away so they can cheat by dumping ballots and dumping in fake ballots
they know he’s going to win
better not come our way
freaking libs destroy every place they live
where is your way?
AND, to all my Oregon friends (you know who the three or four of you are):
Remember only 167 stock-up shopping days until COVID-20 by my estimate. So shop wisely in your favorite ammo dealer’s store.
And the emergency will go on forever because they will never develop a vaccine to end it.
Fed law trumps state. If suspended, then 18 USC 242.
To quote a friend, It’s getting harder and harder to believe this can end without shooting.

Read the bill.
See Section 6 and Section 7.
Looks to me like it does a bit more than that.

The "due process" part starts with its title at the bottom of page 5, and content starting at the top of page 6.
It does have speedy trial ramifications, but by and large I don't see anything particularly alarming.
The proposed law also give claimants against the state, additional time to file their claim.
PJ Media. ‘nough said.
Indeed, and thank you for also posting a link that might lead to full text.
"Due process" is such a large body of variables, that saying it's been somehow breached ought to cause people to look for details. Glad you did.
I live in NYS. We’re used to our legislature and governor hiding horrific legislation behind harmless sounding titles, synopses, and/or buried deep in huge bills.
