Dr. Anthony Fauci, the polarising director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, slammed everyday Americans for refusing to go along with ‘authority’ on medical matters, and accused people of ‘amazing denial’ when it comes to ‘truth’.
Speaking on a podcast called Learning Curve, produced by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Fauci charged that “unfortunately, there is a combination of an anti-science bias that people are — for reasons that sometimes are, you know, inconceivable and not understandable — they just don’t believe science and they don’t believe authority.”
“So when they see someone up in the White House, which has an air of authority to it, who’s talking about science, that there are some people who just don’t believe that — and that’s unfortunate because, you know, science is truth,” Fauci asserted.
“It’s amazing sometimes the denial there is, it’s the same thing that gets people who are anti-vaxxers, who don’t want people to get vaccinated, even though the data clearly indicate the safety of vaccines,” Fauci proclaimed, adding “That’s really a problem.”
Perhaps the real reason Americans don’t trust Fauci is that he’s consistently flip flopped and contradicted himself on ‘the truth’ for months.
The man also exudes authoritarianism, and clearly has a problem with anyone who questions his superiority.
Fauci also has a long history of being the front man for a network of powerful Big Pharma and Big Medicine interests, pushing vaccines and medicines in a clear conflict of interest.

That's because you've labeled your OPINION as "science" and then changed your opinion.
As for "authority";
"Authority is vested in those to whom it applies."
So, because you vacillate and make excuses, we no longer recognize your "authority".
As I’ve pointed out before in this forum, science is not a belief. Anyone that refers to it in this manner doesn’t understand it, or expects others not to understand it.

Science is supposed to be about challenging theories and “truths”. That is how we advance and refine our knowledge.

Science is not "truth".
Science is about the process of getting to the truth, or as close to it as is possible.
It is quite a different thing from a political process masquerading as "science" to declare something as "truth".
I know Leftists like Fauci aren't in the least bit interested in history, but history is FULL of accepted "Science" that completely wrong, and a revision was effected by real "scientists" who used scientific principles to analyze and test accepted "truth" to change that accepted "truth", and even then, their closer version of the "truth" may yet be shown to be false by future "real scientists".
I don't have a high opinion or any expectation of real service to this country from Fauci, but it was a shock to hear this come out of his mouth.
The only excuse I could give him is that he was speaking off the cuff, but...I do believe that is his view of "science" is as he states.
Almost everybody is familiar with this Eisenhower line from his farewell speech:
"we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex."
Almost no on knows this line follows a few paragraphs later in the same speech
"Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite."
Fauci is neither a real doctor or a real scientist.
He is just an overpaid, arrogant bureaucrat who has been in his job far too long.
Science is about the process of getting to the truth, or as close to it as is possible.

Why should we believe you, Dr. Lysenko? I don’t see you telling all these protestors that their gatherings are dangerous.
I tuned out Fauci and all like him back in March. I am following hygiene and social distancing recommendations since the virus does exist, but I haven’t wasted my time listening to people Fauci day after day.
Thou shalt believe in and follow the authority of Scientific Socialism.
Not only that, but if scientists are making $$$$ off their recommendations, they are not to be trusted either.

Critical thinking skills seem to be in very short supply these days. Our skewls certainly don’t teach them.
