I have been using IMGUR.com to upload images and display them at Free Republic for years. Not one of those images has ever disappeared until now.

Got this one this morning

I don't know what the image was so I am downloading all the ones I have for safekeeping.

The war on free speech is accelerating as we approach November 3rd.

I use one called Postimage.com. I wonder if mine will start disappearing. Maybe I should delete them myself before I find myself on a list of subversives.

I have been buying my own web space for the last 20 years to avoid such an issue. I don’t regret it.

I agree. Imgur will not pay to keep your stuff forever. Storage space on the cloud—while inexpensive—is not free for the company.

I've never saved any of my stuff other than on my own hard drives and thumb drives.

I even have years of pictures on floppy disks and CD roms in addition to backups on hard drives and thumb drives.

All in fireproof, EMP proof storage.

Trusting you stuff to other entities seldom works well.

I am not worried about losing the stuff on Postimage.com. It’s just jokes and memes, etc. It is just sad that so many companies are squelching free speech.

I just uploaded this image I created on Paint to Imgur.

So far it's still up.

Because I could make an argument that meme supports the left’s idea that the colonists were genocidal and war is necessary to rid us of them...

?

Dunno.

~~~
Most of them pay Amazon S3 or Microsoft for their storage.
All the usual suspects.
That's the ticket. IMO, FReepers shouldn't take the position of the GibsMeDats who expect to get free stuff from some other entity. I pay for my own websites and host my own stuff, and have never had a problem.
Besides, when some product is "free", it means YOU ARE THE PRODUCT. One way or another.
And I never get any "Linking/posting prohibited" messages, regardless of how many people click.
They are now at the stage of purging symbols of Whitey. Actual Whitey comes next.
Exactly. That’s why many of them have pretty strict retention policies. Maybe that’s what happened here? Imgur’s policy is this: “Imgur keep images for ever as long as they are receiving at least 1 view every six months. If they are not they may be deleted to save space.” Just a thought.
Or if the pic does not meat the mods PC view. I've posted a lot of meme's on imgur only to have some spineless mod suspend me then ban me even though the pic met their stated guidelines. When I complained about the screen name "An*lRape", his name (contained all the letters), they said it was acceptable because it was based upon a skit from arrested development. They just love the power of cancelling free speech.
I don’t know what it was. I just uploaded it a couple of days ago. I use my FR homepage as a scrapbook where I can grab stuff.
