Yesterday, we reported that Quaker Foods caved to calls to “cancel” Aunt Jemima, and that the brand will be renamed. Now, the great-grandson of the real Aunt Jemima, Anna Short Harrington, is speaking out to express his anger and disappointment that her legacy is being erased.

Because that is the point really of the whole thing. To erase history and rewrite it according to ‘plan’.
They’re destroying the achievements, and history of all the people of color who broke those barriers years ago. They’re desecrating the memories of these people. By promoting their own history, they do so at the expense of someone else’s.

I think the right course of actions is to tell her story. I am very impressed with her story. She proves no matter what background in life you come from you can be successful in America. She is an American Success story that needs to be told. She should make a movie about her.

sounds to me like the real Aunt Jemimas (there were two, subsequent generations) were lovely people, beloved by many...for something that they did well and were paid to do.
