They are still getting carriage fees from cable providers which are of course passed on to subscribers. I know my Verizon Fios bill sure hasn’t gone down.

You’re right, ESPN shares the broadcast rights for a lot of live sports including NBA, MLB baseball, college and pro football...non of which have been playing for months.

Their viewership had already been declining a lot prior to this crazy year though. Millions have tuned their social justice warrior act out.

If you’re tired of true crime, for the past four years I have been recording a podcast on Southeast Asian history. The latest episode covers how Cambodia got pulled into the Vietnam War.

I remember when ESPN use to be the top channel on cable. And they charged a fortune to get a subscription to it. Husband loved it; otherwise I would have dropped it for sure.

I can’t wait until we have “pick and choose” cable/satellite. Every sports channel, especially ESPN, will be the first thing that we’ll be dumping.

It is already happening in many ways for people who have high-speed internet. My wife and I “cut the cord” two years ago, but the big streaming providers like Sling, ATT, YouTube TV, and others still bundle, but it is getting a little more à la carte all of the time.

Shut your mouth and go out into disadvantaged communities and listen to what they need and then help them get it.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Instead of virtue signalling & tearing down statues, maybe ESPN, BLM, DemonRats, the Left/Progressives & even the stinkers in Congress ... whoever is flapping their gums & kneeling these days, should actually DO something about situations like THIS, where limbs and LIVES could be saved:

The Black American Amputation Epidemic
https://features.propublica.org/diabetes-amputations/black-american-amputation-epidemic/

Read it and weep - I did. After staving off T2D myself & working to help family/friends who have similar issues, this doctor has inspired me even further and I have some ideas that I plan to act on in the near future, outside the sphere of family/friends.

“ I watched the 2002 World Series the other couple nights.”

I’m watching game 7 of the 1994 Eastern Conference playoffs today. Rangers vs Devils. Got the smoker going for some salmon and ribs, deep fryer for wings and fries. As far as I am concerned, if live sports doesn’t come back for awhile I won’t be upset.

Thanks, I will check it out. While I mostly do true crime, I do add in other topics, so I appreciate the suggestion.

To be fair, don’t you think the almost complete absence of live sporting events in the last three months might have more to do with the decline than disagreement over “wokeness”?

last night watching the late night reruns of the Golden Girls, they had at least 4 commercials in a row featuring black people....not coincidence.....

Yesterday while watching a golf tournament there were at least two 60-second commercials, one featuring a successful female black basketball player and businesswoman saying her success (I'm paraphrasing) didn't matter because she's still a black person.

The other was an older black man (I don't know who) saying that "a conversation" must happen in this country and that the Boston Tea Party was a riot but it's romanticized because the participants were white.

This isn't new - it's been going on for several years. Blacks are about 13% of the population, but seem to comprise about 35%-40% of the featured actors in TV commercials. Moreover, virtually all of them are depicted as living in upscale neighborhoods.

You'll see gays, lesbians, single moms (always in upscale neighborhoods), a few Asians, an occasional Muslim or Sikh, dads feeding babies, female astronauts, meditators, practitioners of yoga and Tai Chi, but never - except for Mike Lindell in his own commercials - a person depicted as a Christian

ABC Good Morning America & TMZ both should switch over to BET network. It is ALL BLACK ALL THE TIME & ALL ANTI-TRUMP.

Teach money sense and great ways to save toward owning a home.”””

To own a home, first you have to have employment

To have employment, first you have to have skills that are usable & hireable.

To have skills, first you need to actually ATTEND SCHOOL & NOT have a criminal record.

Seems to me that most blacks go off the rails about 4th grade.
