I watched about 10 minutes of it. “Summer of Love”, says the Mayor. Reminds me of the Manson Family’s Spahn Ranch, or of Jonestown. A bunch of nuts gathered together. Someone brought them Porto Potties, but garbage is beginning to overflow....wonder how they’ll get rid of that. Large tent set up for community health. This circus won’t last long.

Looks to me like a few hippy babies conceived during the Summer of Love in '69 combined with a bunch of left leaning 20-somethings looking to hook up with each other.
No war lords, no armed checkpoints. Just a bunch of typical Seattle white kids pretending to be protesters.

CHAZ is beginning to look like most of the grungy side of Seattle—weird but just Seattle weird.

Try getting in the crowd or being a non conformed. Try entering. Ask a business owner how much street tax they are paying. Wonder what’s going on with the police precinct. Oh they can’t operate out of it causing a triple response time now.

It isn’t your normal well-run city. People who live there, who own property there, know that and expect the weirdness. People who don’t like it leave.
The police are mellow. It is the magic mushroom capital of America.
It is our answer to Greece—nothing works exactly right and there are more people loafing around than working.
Everybody who lives there knows what it is—and they like it or they wouldn’t be there.
