Episcopalians Confused By Strange Book Trump Brought To Church

Trump visited St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington to hold up a Bible straight toward the heavens, a completely natural way to hold a Bible, in a clearly authentic demonstration of his faith and definitely not a staged photo op.

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, though, was nonplussed, saying she was confused by the strange book Trump had brought to church.

"What is that weird book? We've literally never seen one before," she said in a CNN interview. "No real Christian reveres a book like that. Well, maybe the Communist Manifesto or something. But not an old-looking leather book. It looks like one of those religious books, and Jesus wasn't about religion. He was about causing societal upheaval and burning things down."

Some Episcopalians suggested it was a cookbook and that Trump was only offering to bring something to the next church potluck. Others said it was a copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, a revered religious text among the Left. But in the end, Episcopal believers couldn't figure out what the book was and were slightly frightened by it.

Meanwhile, Mike Pence was frantically searching the White House for his Bible only to see Trump on TV. "I told him to ask me before he borrows it for a stunt like this," Pence muttered as he breathed a sigh of relief.

Trump’s book didn’t have any pictures of men having gay sex in it, so they didn’t like it.

Heard trump was also surprised by how heavy the bible is. He’s so used to the bailiff holding it.

VirtueOnline, a resource to Anglicans trying to resist the corruption of their religion, is in a 2012 essay critical of the woman as new age, among other things.

It quotes her from a sermon she gave in 2011, as she looked back...

“And so, back in 2003, when a Lutheran pastor whom I deeply admired wondered aloud why the Episcopal Church insisted on taking so controversial a position on the full inclusion of gays and lesbians at the very time we needed to grow our congregations, I said to him, ‘You don’t understand. The full inclusion of lesbians and gays wasn’t something we thought up on our own. God led us to this place. It has not been an easy road. And some day you will thank us because we are making it easier for you to do the same. This is our treasure. This is our treasure.’” She continued with the autosuggestion mantra, “We are a unique expression of God’s creative genius. Never doubt the importance of what you are doing and what we are doing on this earth.”

This is a very bad fruit, one that cannot come from a good tree.

The words of the hymn are not:

Just as I am, I’m changing not, how dare you suggest my soul has spots, I’m good enough for me, and changing not, oh Lamb of God I’ll come only just as I am.

... but they really are:

“Just as I am, without one plea, but that Thy blood was shed for me, and that Thou bid’st me come to Thee, oh Lamb of God, I come!”

If any find themselves in a congregation where the first incorrect version above could believably be the version they would sing were they honest I would suggest that they flee running ... no amount of time you’ve been someplace, no attachment to buildings or even people are worth following them in the course they have set.

Yep.

When it comes to the sort of person you should be, don’t be the sort of person who is a gift to the satirists.

The Left’s outrage is because the book President Trump held up was not titled “BABEL”!
