Ok. So right now in my state which is Hawaii, they had us wear mask in public places such as restaurant for take out only, stores, and many other businesses that is going to open pretty soon if I am not mistaken. I know there are people who disagree with mandatory masks in public.

Now let me ask again. Would you be willing to wear a mask that has slogan or phrases that said: "Make America Great Again"? It's just like the MAGA hat except it would be MAGA mask. I am interested to see the public's reaction if we do wear MAGA mask in public especially if it's mandatory to do so.

Really. Because the doctors’ spouses sit at home at their sewing machines, making little masks for them out of leftover quilting scraps. I buy fabric sheets that are made for inkjet printers. You print on the fabric side, peel off the paper backing, and set with an iron. Then rinse with cold water, partially dry on paper towel, then re-set with iron. Then make whatever mask you want.

I have a pattern for a 3D mask that gives a large area for for a message.

Like you, my brother and his kids get creative with Sharpies on ready-made masks. His boys are super conservative and even though they’re young they come up with some good stuff. The youngest is eight.

I wear an N-95 mask when I go into the grocery store (and in this area EVERYONE in the store is wearing a mask - both the customers and employees) and it’s horrible. I have to mouth-breathe through the thing because I can’t get enough air otherwise and I can’t wait to get out of there and rip the thing off my face.

I really can’t comprehend how medical people can wear these things all day and still function. You’re right. Human beings are built to take in air, and when we can’t take enough of it, bad things happen.

When wearing face masks, especially for an extended period or during higher-than-normal physical activity, some people will experience symptoms like :
rapid breathing,
rapid heart rate,
dizziness,
muscular weakness,
emotional upsets,
and fatigue.

Some of that sounds like panic attack by people with mental problems, but if there are some people who genuinely have difficulty wearing a mask under certain circumstances, those people probably shouldn’t wear them. Wearing N95 masks for long periods of time might cause some people physiological changes that are enough to impact them, but most people aren’t wearing masks for long periods of time and most people aren’t wearing N95 masks.

Democrats Demand You Wear a Symbol of Fear

RUSH: Oh, do you know what I heard right before the program started ?
This is another great illustration of a point that I’ve been making for I don’t know how long.
A quarterback in the National Football League — and I didn’t see it.
It was not videotaped so I don’t know who it was.
But a current quarterback in the NFL actually said,
“Look, I don’t want to get political, but I would like to get back to work.”

Now, when the hell did going to work become political ?
Right now — right here, right now — and who has made this possible ?
Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, all these mask-wearing freaks demanding that you use the symbol of fear, demanding that everybody wear the symbol of fear.
I know why some people believe in masks, and it’s because of the success that we’ve had at grocery stores.

You know, from the beginning of this, people have been able to go to the grocery store, and there has not been the widespread infections of coronavirus in grocery stores.
People had to go there, and they had to go to pharmacies, and there hasn’t been a lot of infection spread.
So those people in the grocery stores were all wearing masks and gloves and so the theory is that wearing the mask, wearing the gloves helped stop the spread.
So if it worked in grocery stores, why not elsewhere ?

But that’s not the point, because that’s not the motivation behind the Democrats and their demand for masks.
Their demand for masks is political.
Everything is political.
They hope to capitalize on the image they’re creating that we’re all about to die —
that we’re all very, very near being wiped out
— and only those who wear masks are gonna be safe
and only Democrats advocating the wearing of masks care about people.

If you don’t wear a mask, then you don’t care.

It’s kind of like the old red AIDS ribbon.
You put the AIDS ribbon on, and what does it say ?
Nothing !
It says,
“I’m better than you; I care.
You don’t care because you’re not wearing this ribbon.
This red ribbon makes me a better person than you !”
Well, that’s how they’re using the mask now,
and it’s gotten to the point where an NFL quarterback says,
“I don’t want to get political, but I’d kind of like to go back to work.”

Speaking of this — let me find this very quickly — the North Carolina governor has changed his thinking on the mask,
and it is noteworthy.

how they’re changing their motivation behind the mask,
what the purpose of the mask is
and what it says about you if you don’t…
Well, I can’t find it.

But it’s essentially the mask isn’t about safety now.
The governor of North Carolina has made it clear: The mask isn’t about safety.

It’s about showing that you care.
It’s about showing that you have compassion.
It’s about showing that you don’t want to infect other people.
It’s about showing that you are a good person.
And, remember,
this is such a classic, classic way liberals achieve their supposed superiority over people.
I’ve always said, liberalism is the most gutless choice you can make
because it never requires you to solve anything.

All you have to do is notice suffering here, misfortune over there, and point it out.
And that makes you a good person.
That makes you a compassionate person.
And you’ll run around, you’ll get awards from people for caring.
And that is exactly how — the mask and some of the other things — the left is now attempting to maintain their moral superiority
when they have none,
and it’s also a way…

This NFL quarterback,
“Look, I don’t want to get political, but I kind of like…”
This guy’s afraid to say who wants to go to work !
He’s afraid of what’s gonna happen, and what is he afraid of ?
He’s afraid of Twitter.
He’s afraid of social media.
He’s afraid of what’s gonna be said about him on social media.

Yesterday governor Cooper tweeted the following:
“A face covering signifies strength and compassion for others.

I mean, this is right out of the AIDS red ribbon handbook.
So now we’re not wearing masks to stay healthy.
We wear them as a symbol of “strength and compassion.” The problem with that is
when the standard-bearer and the titular head of your party is Joe Biden,
there is no way that Plugs is a symbol of strength or anything else
looking like the idiot he is wearing that mask.

This is virtue signaling.

There’s no science here.
