Judge ruled that “risk of injury to persons” and “individual privacy rights and interests” prevailed over what the Gibsons alleged was collusion between the college and Cleveland media to “dox” Allyn D. Gibson...As part of that campaign seeking to impugn the Gibsons post-trial, Oberlin College sought to unseal the confidential Facebook records of Allyn D. Gibson, the store clerk whose stop of a black Oberlin College student for shoplifting sparked the protests, accusations of racial profiling, business cut-off, and eventually, lawsuit and jury trial. The student, along with two other students, later pleaded guilty to offenses related to the shoplifting.

Good, the Oberlin attorneys simply want to malign the Gibsons. It will be interesting to see how many NEW Oberlin students actually show up for the Fall semester.

This just kills me. You catch a shoplifter, they admit guilt in court, but you’re a racist profiler. Making you the perpetrator, them the victim. Go figure.

When dealing with people who demand innocence because of blood, that they should get a pass when doing wrong because someone hurt their granddaddy, there is no way to reason with them.

I spoke to one guy in security a few times and what they do is just kick out the thief, no use keeping them for the cops as you may be on the end of a lawsuit BUT if they are within your premises, you can take a picture of the thief which they do and put it on display. Always keep evidence just in case,

Whoever brought this case should spend a long time in jail dancing for Bubba, just for thinking they could.

Oberlin is taking this case very personally - there is a ton of hate in that administration. This makes no sense at all.

When this is all over, Oberlin should be reconstituted as a psychiatric hospital - most of the administration, faculty and student body included. As patients.

In an ideal world.

This makes no sense at all.

Take a look at who runs Oberlin and it might start to make a little sense.

I’ve been enjoying C-Span’s Civil War series, but nearly broke the remote’s channel changer when a presenter from Oberlin was introduced. ;^)

If they can unseal the private fb records, then they’re not private.

Oberlin has a large judgment against it for willfully harming this family. Has it been paid in full? If Oberlin is appealing the ruling or amount, I certainly hope their new go at smearing the victim kills any chance they might have had. Oberlin = SLOW learners.
