So since McConnell called the Senate back for the sole purpose to approve judges then why does it matter that the House isn’t there?
Because she’s an imperious old pig who would do the political landscape a favor if she’d throw an embolism and have the clot clog up that walnut she calls a brain. If she had a CT scan, it would probably look like it was left over from the holiday nut bowl from 2007. Even the ceramic squirrel holding the nutcrackers wouldn’t touch it.
Well, to most liberals, to all liberal politicians, politics IS their life, their religion. Then again, they have rejected religion, so they have no other life.
Well, over half the deaths are in deep blue New York State and New Jersey, with a solid chunk of New York State deaths in NYC alone, which voted for Hilary Clinton by 70%. I doubt if old folks passing on in NYC is going to do a whole lot of damage the GOP.
Schumer complains about the time in Washington the Senate must spend to go through these nominees.
McConnell and Trump should point out that for 240 years the minority party in the Senate did not require the senate to use up the maximum hours of floor debate time for every single nominee. Schumer and his party created the need for a Senate to be in session to get this done.
A simple agreement between the two parties to allow votes on many nominees without all the floor debate time and this could be wrapped up quickly.
Schumer is the one who is forcing the senate to be in session.
If McConnel wants all of Congress back in session, and Pelosi does not want that and Pelosi will not call the House back in session, then under -
The Constitution Article II Section 3
“He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.”
They keys are:
1. on extraordinary occasions (which PELOSI has decided the Wuhan Virus is making), and
2. in case of disagreement between the House and the Senate on having or not having Congress in session
Trump could totally adjourn Congress and make recess appointments.
The problem is the use by both Houses of “pro forma” sessions, where they have not officially adjourned, but are in fact not functioning.
Trump could try it and take it to SCOTUS which would have to decide (1) do they want to get into the matter, and (2) what does a “pro forma” session mean when it comes to Article II, section 3 and the executive’s power to adjourn Congress under extraordinary circumstances.
Nancy would rather see the country go to hell in a hand basket than give Trump credit for ANYTHING.
It’s what Communists do.
DIMs/LIBs/Leftists are malignancies upon civil societies. They must be crushed. Don’t be weak. Show them NO quarter in any situation.

Feinstein just wants to stop President Trump from getting his judges confirmed.Since it's something that the House can't do, the House is free to adjourn.
But not the Senate, so Feinstein, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, complains.
Calling the Senate into session is actually independent of calling the House into session. It is entirely upon Speaker Pelosi for stalling on the opening of the House.
More foot dragging and passive-aggressive resistance.
Nancy is sure piling up the points for her side in the 2020 election. Non-performance of obligations is still performance.
The media is helping as usual. Not much mention of the daily chapter 13 bankruptcies on the news, just more panic about 3000 deaths if we reopen.
Trump should use his powers as President to...nevermind.
LA Times: Whatever happened with Tara Reade in 1993, Biden is still infinitely better than Trump
Democrats ... “they dont care about people dying or 30 million Americans having been put out of jobs; all they care about is politics. After all, the Wuhan Virus is killing mainly old people, and old people happen to be mostly Republican voters.
Well, it wasn’t rape rape.
Plus the dimoKKKRATS want mail in voting in November. They want to extend this thing as much as possible for that to happen.
Luckily, McConnell is having none of it, and called the Senate back into session
Pelosi & Party fails again 4 years of of failure is proof democrat voter can see obstruction is a dead end street
I thought Pelosi wanted to stay in San Francisco so she can make sure somebody doesn’t steal her expensive refrigerator, full of expensive ice cream.
Democrats really are wired differently, and they have a their core the ultimate philosophical deficiency: They believe central planning and enforcement of socioeconomic behavior is the ideal prescription for mankind.
The Founders designed the Republic around the exact opposite core belief: That only as free individuals can we weigh personal risk and reward for our actions. ... That consensus policymaking is devoid of the inter-competition and experimentation that brings good ideas to the forefront.
Individuals freely experimenting with competing ideas - that is the hope of mankind - and central planners (Democrats) seek to snuff it out.
If anyone doubts that - just listen to the way Democrats regard the current central-planned socioeconomic crackdown. They are giddy with excitement at the prospects - they view this as a great opportunity. They dont ever want to go back to freedom.
They want to take this central planning and enforcement of social distancing and use it as a model for all sorts of central policymaking: climate change, gun control, abortion on demand, you name it.
Everything they ever hoped to control is now within their reach - now that they have seen how compliant we are when properly brainwashed and afraid.
They arent even hiding it - they are proud of their Marxism, although they dont like to call it by name.
