You could never make this stuff up, folks. Never in a billion gazillion years. During what had to have been the most ironic Town Hall for Women event in world history yesterday, given the two participants history of serially abusing women, the Pantsuit Princess spent about a minute and a half bestowing her formal endorsement upon Quid Pro China Joe Biden. Hilariously, the elderly, clearly impaired and rapidly declining presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party actually appeared to nod off on camera for about 15 seconds while the Fainting Felon was droning on:
JT Lewis ✔ @thejtlewis Joe Biden fell asleep during his town hall with Hillary Clinton. To be fair, everyone else watching was also asleep.
Embedded video 4,511 2:38 PM - Apr 28, 2020 Twitter Ads info and privacy 3,142 people are talking about this Continuing to run this declining man out there in front of the cameras by his staff and his craven wife is disgusting. This is elder abuse, folks. There are laws against this stuff. Is there no one on earth who actually cares about Joe Biden as a human being? The evidence available to us on the public record indicates the answer is no.
Speaking of evidence on the public record The law firm that formerly represented General Mike Flynn (which also happens to be the law firm in which former Obama Attorney General Eric Holder is a partner) just suddenly and completely coincidentally realized this week that it had been illegally withholding 6,800 pages of potentially exculpatory evidence in the Flynn case and turned it all over to the court of Judge Emmet Sullivan yesterday without prior notice.
Why, it was like, totally just a communications error according to the firm, Covington and Burling, yall. The firm assures us that the sudden discovery of this mass of documents had nothing at all to do with the fact that, last Friday, the Justice Department itself had released what current Flynn attorney Sidney Powell believes to be a treasure trove of exculpatory evidence, likely including emails and other communications between DOJ lawyers and the original Covington and Burling lawyers who worked on the case.
Think about it: If the DOJ treasure trove contains emails between those parties that had not already been turned over to the court by Covington and Burling, that would be clear evidence that the firm had been withholding relevant documents that should have been turned over years ago. So, presto changeo!, the firm suddenly finds 6,800 pages of relevant documents that had been withheld for years and blames it all on a clerical error. Nothing suspicious about this at all, folks its all totes normal and stuff, or something.
Apparently growing weary of all of the lawyerly shenanigans that he has allowed to continue to take place in his court for years now, Judge Sullivan responded to Covington and Burlings latest muck-up by ordering the firm to examine all of its files one more time and come back to his court on Monday, May 4 and swear under oath that it has now turned over every document in its possession that is in any way relevant to this case. The evidence available on the public record indicates that the Judge has a better chance of winning the Mega-Millions lotto than he does of getting an honest response from this firm.
Sullivan is not the only guy who is tired of all the nonsense. Crusty old Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, who chaired the Senate Intelligence Committee during the first two years of this travesty of justice, sent a letter over to Attorney General William Barr on Monday, accusing former Acting AG Oily Rod Rosenstein of obstructing the Judiciary Committees previous inquiries into the DOJs conduct of this case, and urging Barr to make all documents related to the case public as soon as possible.
Heres that letter:

The inescapable conclusion to come to, given all of the evidence that we now have on the public record, is that Sidney Powell is exactly right when she says that General Mike Flynn was entrapped and framed. He was framed not by some Mafia outfit, but by an utterly corrupt FBI and DOJ whose senior personnel were functioning just like some Mafia outfit. Even worse, it is beginning to appear as if Flynns own original lawyers may have actually been working in cooperation with those corrupt FBI and DOJ personnel who, remember, were all tied into the Mueller Investigation and all the rampant corruption that entailed.
This is an epic, disgusting scandal for the ages. If Judge Sullivan, after the revelation of all of this monstrous deception and chicanery taking place in his court, cannot summon the personal integrity to summarily dismiss this case, then the time has well and truly arrived for President Trump to issue a full and complete pardon to General Flynn.
And then, just for fun, the President should make every leftist head in America explode simultaneously by re-hiring General Flynn, not as his new National Security Advisor, but to replace the worthless, corrupt Christopher Wray as Director of the FBI.
That, folks, would be real justice.
That is all.
Disbar all partners and above from the sleazy law firm.
Well, Alcee Hastings was impeached. (But then got elected to Congress, since proving that one doesn’t have to have a brain to be a member of Congress.)
The most disappointing aspect of all this is that these facts are coming to light AFTER Flynn had entered a guilty plea in the case. Every lawyer Ive read who has weighed in on the subject has said this really undermines his attempt to have the charges dismissed.
Maybe theres a strategy behind all this, but for two years now Ive been thinking this would be a perfect case study in a law school textbook chapter: How NOT to Defend a Criminal Case.
Because Federal prosecutors were vowing to go after Flynn's family. It is a tried tactic of vermin prosecutors, like that snake Andrew Weissmann who was Mueller's "pit bull" and who went did the same thing to innocent people in the Enron and Arthur Anderson cases.
Will Michael Flynn Plead Guilty And Cooperate To Protect His Son?
Barr's "review" of the case has been late, weak, and ineffective.
You can expect a nice, looooong nap.
Trump himself confirmed that Flynn was untrustworthy. Both Trump and Pence were justifiably convinced that Flynn lied to Pence. Trump was puzzled why Flynn lied because the lying was unnecessary.
But what really frosted Trump was the childish and insulting nature of how Flynn handled the situation with the president. When Trump asked Flynn what happened, Flynn told the president Flynn could not remember what had happened two weeks before. When Trump fired Flynn (calling Flynn a good man) Trump was very explicit in communicating the fact that Flynn essentially was treating Trump like a chump.
No one wants to hear it, but Powell has been grossly incompetent in how she has handled the legal aspects of the Flynn case. She is making a political argument, and has not bothered to make a valid legal argument. She cannot make a valid legal argument because she does not have a valid legal argument. If she could, she would.
You will notice that cheer leaders for Powell like the Federalist writer, who has the requisite legal experience, themselves NEVER make a valid legal argument. And ask yourself before you respond harshly, can YOU make a valid legal argument on Flynn’s behalf?
I used to think Powell, in addition to bamboozling the public, also bamboozled Flynn into throwing away the beautiful plea deal he got. Flynn’s “declaration” is a totally humiliating statement for him when you analyze it objectively. Now I wonder.
Incidentally, Powell has a new book to promote! Buy, buy, buy!
Good original post.
I think we each need to choose one person in our immediate circle, and set out to inform them about what has happened here. Plan it out, think about why they think what they think, what they believe is important to them, and what information they lack.
Most people BELIEVE that they are objective evaluators of facts, and that they are capable of applying PRINCIPLES uniformly, regardless of whether or not they like the person being judged. If you get someone to agree that a person should not be convicted of a crime under certain specific circumstances, and that people who attempt to railroad someone with false evidence and by withholding exculpatory evidence, then you can slowly, calmly, and in a friendly way start feeding himherit irrefutable facts, which they can verify for themselves. As you go, you can ask them if they’e ever heard this information. As they continue to say no, you can ask them why the source they listen to would leave this out? Keep reinforcing that you believe they are a person of principle, that you believe they care about doing the right thing. Keep adding information that they don’t know. Remember that it is very stressful to encounter information that challenges the reliability of one’s world view. Finding out the people you’ve believed in are actually truly evil is a frightening experience. Guide them slowly, carefully, and supportively, not so much making them believe the truth, as carefully exposing them to the facts in the context of their stated beliefs, and letting them come to the conclusion that what they have been led to believe is factually false, and inconsistent with their principles.
It takes time, but it’s how I went from being a brainwashed liberal to a thoughtful Conservative.
One person each.
Starting today.
I don’t dispute any of that. I understand why someone in Flynn’s shoes would make a plea deal in that situation. What baffles me is why he’s still around more than two years later trying to undo everything he’s already done.
I also want him to go away. I never liked him. He came across as an inept amateur in a lot of the things he did, and the process he has undertaken through the course of this case pretty much reinforces my view of him.
Re # 24:
No one wants to hear about Powell’s gross incompetence, or contemplate the implications of Flynn’s role.
This case could have been over long ago with Flynn getting a great result: no incarceration, conviction of a minor offense, a sterling reputation as a noble man who helped his son, and in a wonderful position to be pardoned immediately.
Powell’s incompetence is too detailed to get into here, and no one wants to hear it anyway, nor would they understand it because of closed minds.
But for anyone who can be objective, read through Flynn’s “declaration.” Powell’s incompetence lead to the necessity of Flynn making that declaration, and it is a statement filled with absurdities and details which paint Flynn in a very poor light, certainly in a light far, far different from his reputation.
My attitude toward Flynn is identical to Trump’s: he is a good man who has very childish aspects to his character.
I hope Flynn gets his pardon and his millions, he certainly deserves it.
And I hope his judgment vastly improves, he needs it.
I have a whole different take on her involvement here.
1. From a legal perspective, she didn't have anything to work with. You seemed to say the same thing in Post #27.
2. I'm starting to wonder if Powell's role right now is less about getting the charges dismissed and more about building a case against Flynn's original lawyers -- to restore his finances more than anything else.
3. If she's out peddling a book, I wonder if she's even being paid for her work. This may be a pro bono assignment with a pile of book royalties as the "compensation" for her work.
Witch hunts need victims.
Judge Sullivan is STALLING!! You’re a FReeper?
They are running out the clock. None of this would have come to light had Hillary been elected. All of it will go away if a Democrat wins in November. The election is six months away. They have already burned four years. They figure they can burn another six months. At that point, the media will pivot instantly to "no convictions, therefore innocent," which is how they defend Democrats who subvert the system. Anyone who dredges up the skeletons in the closet will be dismissed as a rank conspiracy theorist. And that will be the history that is taught to students at all levels. The affair will become a Minitrue training module.
So Sullivan is tired. Spare us. This is like the 295th time that the prosecution (or their agents) have dumped a nasty surprise onto the court. If it had been a dhimmicrat defendent he would have ended this sick charade long ago.
Sullivan responded... by ordering the firm to examine all of its files one more time and come back to his court on Monday, May 4 and swear under oath that it has now turned over every document in its possession that is in any way relevant to this case. The evidence available on the public record indicates that the Judge has a better chance of winning the Mega-Millions lotto than he does of getting an honest response from this firm.
There are a hundred aspects of the case where Powell was incompetent.
The most fundamental is that Flynn is far worse off now, and always will be far worse off than when Powell took the case.
Even Powell understood that it was folly to move to withdraw the plea. She understood that moving to withdraw the plea would require a humiliating and legally dangerous declaration like the one Flynn eventually submitted.
But Powell unwittingly forced herself to move to withdraw the plea. Her inflammatory and politicized comments (regardless of their truth) and her legal position resulted in a very predictable result (which in fact I predicted before it happened): the government changed its position on no incarceration and gave notice that they would be asking for incarceration.
Because of the changed position, Powell was now LEGALLY REQUIRED to move to withdraw the plea, and to submit the declaration. Without going into detail the declaration is humiliating because it makes Flynn look like a bumbling, ignoble fool, and dangerous because it subjects Flynn to perjury charges which he ironically confesses to in the declaration.
Again without going into detail, Powell has never made a valid LEGAL argument on Flynns behalf. Her legal arguments do NOT apply the nuances of the law, but childishly assert broad principles, in some respects legally irrelevant priciples. It is not that the arguments could not be made, they could. She simply has not made them by applying the law to the facts.
There is much more.
True, Powell did not have much to work with. In a sense, that is the case for her gross incompetence. She could have left well enough alone, and a competent lawyer would have left well enough alone. An incompetent lawyer reopens matters which carry great risk and undo what is probably the best situation possible under the circumstances. Usually the lawyers who incompetently reopen matters do so for political or monetary reasons which are NOT in the clients best interests.
IMO Powells role is about Powell, nothing more and nothing less. Like many lawyers, she saw a golden opportunity and she took it, clients interests be damned. And in the process, she is bamboozling many good, patriotic Americans who cannot fathom what she is actually doing.
Flynn (Powell) is raising money for her fees. I saw the number to call yesterday. We are constantly told how devastating the attorneys fees were under the old lawyers.
How about the fees under the new lawyer, which are totally unnecessary given the plea deal?
There is much more that I could say, but I ask one question: how is Flynn better off now than when Powell took over? Powell is much better off, but Flynn is not.
BTW, I have brought up these preceding points other times and have never gotten a responsive answer, just name-calling and total deletion of my post in one venue.
If one grades judges on a curve, Sullivan is one of the good guys.
