A New Jersey college professor who was accused of planning to burn down St. Patricks Cathedral in New York City died by suicide April 17, NBC News reported Thursday.
Marc Lamparello of Hasbrouck Heights was released from Rikers Island March 20 due to concerns about coronavirus and died April 17, according to his attorney, NBC News reported.

Schizophrenia is not a trivial thing. I am hopeful that he truly was out of his mind and not culpable for his behavior. Those of us who have known schizophrenics from before its development on people know that it can turn angels into monsters.

When something like this happens, my reaction to it reminds me of my ongoing struggle to become the better person I've always wanted to be.
Its not a sin to BE a sloth. Its a sin to act on your sloth tendencies.
This is one of those few cases where I make some snide comment about suicide being the ultimate in self criticism.
