Flashback song of the night during this quarantine period.
I remember this song from summer of 1975. Just a 13-year-old hanging out on the beach. Didn't do much swimming though because of some stupid shark movie that was out that year.
I always liked this song, as I do most of Americas stuff.
Back when Sister Golden Hair was on the radio, a DC-area D.J. described it thusly: “It sounds like Paul Simon singing a George Harrison song.”
Well, I tried to make it Sunday but I got so damn depressed
Two of the original members are still touring - casinos, fairs, etc
One of those songe, like Venturea Highway, then instantly transforms me back to my early post-high school days.

Me too. Also love I Need You. Takes me back
“So I set my sights on Monday and I got myself undressed.”
“I ain’t ready, for the altar, but I do believe there’s time, when a woman can be a friend of mine.”
One of their other hits was “Tin Man”.
The summer I left home in Michigan and went to Ohio for college was 1974. My parents gave me the “Tin Man” as a 45 record. I was pleased and quite surprised. I didn’t realize they knew I liked that group.
Three others they gave me: Diamond Dogs..Bowie
Tubular Bells...Mike Oldfield.
Low Spark of Highheeled Boys....Traffic
They were all USAF dependents who’s fathers were stationed at
South Ruislip, an area of west London in the London Borough of Hillingdon, England.
Daisy Jane is an amazing song.
I thought I remembered that they were AF Brats in Germany. Maybe not.
Oh gee, that piece that’s supposed to be the greatest song of all time...
...oh wait, that’s another S song...
...Sister Christian....
...no, Stairway to Heaven!
LOL
Yes, I saw them in Denver in 2018.
Thanks for posting this song. I really like it.
I wrote some Christian lyrics for it and used the same arrangement.
No one else has ever played it except our worship band (and it’ll most likely stay that way).
I agree. It is my favorite "America"song:
You and your parents had great taste:)
I was born in December of 1970, so, my taste in 70s music was formed by the many records that my big sister bought. Luckily, she had a huge record collection.
I was particularly obsessed with Supertramps Breakfast in America LP.
