At Sunday's White House coronavirus task force briefing, CBS News White House correspondent Weijia Jiang asked President Trump why he didn't "warn" people that the virus was spreading while he was holding MAGA rallies.
WEIJIA JIANG, CBS NEWS: Since you shared with us something else that you saw on TV today. I have a question about something you said Thursday. You said you were angry because information about the virus should have been told to us earlier and a lot sooner. "People knew it was coming and people did not want to talk about it."Many Americans are saying the exact same thing about you, that you should have warned them the virus was spreading like wildfire through the month of February instead of holding rallies with thousands of people. Why did you wait so long to warn them and why did you not have social distancing until March 16th?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Who are you with?
JIANG: I'm Weijia Jiang with CBS News.
TRUMP: So if you look at what I did in terms of cutting off or banning China from coming in.
JIANG: Chinese nationals. By the way, a lot of Americans are also nationals of China.
TRUMP: Just relax. We cut it off. .....
JIANG: When you issued the ban, the virus was already here.
TRUMP: You know how many people when I issued the ban -- how many cases of virus were in the United States when I issued the ban? Do you know the number?

I didn't like it, long ago, when Sam Donaldson yelled at the president so that he could ask a question. But the situation is much worse today. These reporters show no respect to the office of the president, and in fact show open contempt for the man in the office. That's not OK. These "journalists" should not be allowed to perform that job if they can't show respect.
I watched that with disgust. President Trump was absolutely right to say and do what he did.
Why didn’t Pelosi warn people in San Francisco the virus was spreading like wild fire instead of holding an anti Trump rally in Chinatown San Francisco and helping spread the virus?

AND Trump DID listen to the ‘experts’. ALL the experts at the time (including WHO) assured him and US that it was no big deal.

I see parallels to Bush and the WMD in Iraq. My point has nothing to do with whether or not WMD existed. The key fact is that all of our intelligence agencies told President Bush that Saddam Hussein had WMD. The intelligence agencies of our foreign allies concurred: Saddam Hussein had WMD. So President Bush took the action to shut down Saddam Hussein. in the end, no WMD were paraded in front of the public.
The media said: “The president lied about the WMD.”

If he did the exact same thing as Trump, the media would be falling all over themselves calling him a hero, savior of mankind and the second coming of Christ Himself.

That was back before they were all bought and paid for communist Chinese propaganda warriors. It’s absolutely disgusting how blatant they are. Can you imagine a German Nazi being a “reporter” in America during WWII and blatantly spreading lies, rumors and anti American defeatism with no repercussions? We are at war with China right now.
