But embracing adversity does not require the abandonment the principles that brought us this far.

The US Constitution is long enough to replace about 60 sheets of toilet paper if you cut it correctly.
Neither our government nor our citizens seem at all interested in the thing these days, so we might as well try to find some use for it.
The constitution isn’t a suicide pact
It is supposed to be barrier to tyrannical government also. Preserving constitutional liberty in times of epidemics is not suicidal. Offering ones self as a slave and demanding that others do the same is suicidal.
I think we’ve abandoned any pretext of being governed by the Constitution or having a social contract. I think this goes very badly in the next few years.

Obama is not a natural born citizen.
NO ONE with more than ONE nationality can be a natural born citizen.

I think that as members of society at large we don’t all subscribe to the same social contract.
I agree that this will go badly but I’m not sure for whom it will go badly the most.
Freedom's just another word for Nothing Left to Lose.
If this all goes south -- worse than 2008 -- I think people might actually be at the point where they just don't give a damn. What have we got to lose?
Even here on arguably the most conservative forum, the opposition to upholding the natural born citizen clause is fierce.

We used to live in a country with a functioning Constitution. It was reverently known as the United States of America. Back then.
Contemplate the rights you have lost all under the guise of safety. You can no longer worship, travel freely, and engage in commerce of your choosing. Unelected Eggheads are dictating policy through the use of fraudulent modeling with the assistance of a compliant media. Rights that are inalienable have been tossed aside as unnecessary during a time of national crisis.
Fear has pervaded into everyday life. A homegrown stasi movement has been started right under are eyes. Neighbors are encouraged by their government to be a good citizen and snitch on each other. This type of mentality is pernicious and never ends well.
The police are not just standing by but are actively engaging in the destruction of the constitution. Police are routinely using unlawful executive orders to trample all over the rights guaranteed to you in the constitution. The test was successful and the apparatchik now know what strings to pull to gain total compliance.
