The evangelical pastor who vowed to keep preaching unless he was "in jail or the hospital" has died of COVID-19 ... only weeks after defiantly opening his church doors. Bishop Gerald Glenn showed off his jam-packed congregation back on March 22 at the New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Richmond, VA ... telling followers to stand up and prove their numbers ... despite social distancing guidelines and warnings against large gatherings in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. His church announced that Glenn died on, of all days, Easter Sunday from COVID-19 a week after testing positive for the novel coronavirus.

Male pastor = bad man to MSM and proggies.

Being black in this case only plays to the race card of blacks being hit harder by covid19 (you must ignore that blacks have higher comorbidity factors from lifestyle - obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes & smoking - than whites).

Invest in commercial air filtration & sanitization companies.

Has anyone run a check on his congregation? If he is the only one who got infected, then he did not get infected at that church service.

Considering how many elderly shop at Walmart regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.

Considering how many drunks buy booze at a liquor store regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.

Considering how many leftists work in the media regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.

Considering how many anglers fish on lakes regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.

Considering how many stupid cops attack fathers playing ball with their daughters regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.

Considering how many female mayors get their hair trimmed by beauticians regularly, this kind of event is just a petri dish for the coronavirus.

Well, if isolation is the key, then when will you come out of your sanctuary?

On the other hand, if immunity by herd process is a crotical and normal methodof reducing even eliminating a harmful pathogen, then gatherings woth normal precasutions is crucial.

As it is, a viral exchange from a carrier/infected person to a protected person results in a dead end for that encounter, while an unprotected person may be contaminated and even come down sick, gaining immunity ( at least temporary to mid term) then that person becomes a dead end as well. Of course, some suffer more than others, even to death.

Annually, I would estimate that nearly 100k Americans die from viral related causes, flu, common cold ( corona etc) and this novel version now is in the mix.

If N = the total who perish from these causes annually, then adding corona19 to the cocktail would seem to consume part of the whole, N, not necessarily add to the N.

Huh?

That must be one of those dangerous "wet markets" we keep hearing about.

Dont know if he was white.

But he was stupid.

And now he’s dead.

Being dumb isn’t one of the commandments

This thin ain’t ebola.

But why would one beg to get it?

End of April ALL of this needs to end, the quarantine.

But not 3 weeks ago until now when it was rocking.

Sucks to be him.

Who knows where he got it.

Well, his daughter apparently became a late convert; she's now telling everyone to stay at home.

You haven’t heard about governors banning fishing on lakes to stop the spread of the virus?

Ta-da...

That is the perfect answer, thank you. I’m catholic but have yet to see any parish in this country demonstrate their adherence to the Lord’s mandate as well as our evangelical cousins. He is with Him now.

Certainly isolation alone is not a workable long term strategy. And herd immunity by deliberate infection to a virus that we know little about its potential for lasting damage even in younger age groups is irresponsible and reckless. It will also likely take 2 or 3 waves before a critical mass of 70-80% is reached. So yes there will be a middle ground between lockdown and randomly letting the virus run its course through the population — hopefully based on real science, not politics.

I love this pastor for his life’s work. I’m puzzled as to how this carried on the great commission and the gospel, putting both he and his congregation at risk.

“dead white Christian male”

If you click on the article, you see a picture of the pastor.

I guess in modern society, anybody can be whatever they want or what the reader wants them to be.

But, that does not look like a white male to me.

It seems the good pastor died as he lived: fighting for the Lord. May he rest in peace.

Well, had he headed the calls of his God-appointed government, he would still be alive after the social distancing is lifted. Then he could continue that glorious work. Going to church isn't important enough to expend lives on it when other alternatives are available.

It is like watching lemmings.

Thank you,I’m Catholic too. I’m not blaming the parishes, there are many faithful priests. The Bishops are another story.

You could say that of many early christian martyrs. Most of them died because they wouldn’t obey the religious dictates of their “God appointed government”.
