If having the anti-bodies becomes the ticket to get back to work, how many of you would purposefully contract the virus if you didn't already have it?

Posted on 04/08/2020 5:08:41 AM PDT by BuckeyeGOP

It's starting to sound like they are kicking around the idea that folks who have had corona already can get off the bench and get back into the economy.

So basically we will be rewarded for contracting corona.

I own a small business. Straight up... I'll find the damn virus and get infected if that's what it takes. I imagine I won't be the only one.

Not without hydroxychloroquine + azithromax/doxycycline + zinc available.

And a Dr willing to prescribe it.

My answer is predicated completely on whether I have ready access to a week long regimen of HCA/Z-pack/Zinc. If so, yes. If not, no.

Yes, hopefully we can have this available everywhere like Tylenol and doctors that will prescribe it outpatient. Amazing that the best solution faces so much resistance.

yet, waiting for another week in hopes that we find out every hospital and general practitioner has plenty of HCQ and can prescribe early would be an even smarter move ...

Right now without antibodies it is 98 out a 100 empty. With antibodies it will likely be 99.8 chambers out of a hundred.

Next, the question should be asked once they have the exact doses for the most successful drug cocktail worked out that improving the survival rate drastically along with antibodies. Then you can say, 99.98 chambers empty out of hundred.

Right there with you.

I had a nasty “upper respiratory infection” starting Christmas day. Lasted almost two months. Wasn’t the flu they said. Persistent dry cough. finally subsided middle of Feb. I was in Italy during the first round of quarantines, then multiple European countries until the travel ban on March 12th. Either I’ve had it or was exposed enough to get it. As we know 50% of those who have it don’t even know they do. This cowering in fear most Americans are doing is tiresome. Let’s get back to work...

“These are the scenarios suggested by anecdotal reports since January. “

People treat anecdotal evidence depending on what they want to believe.

Anecdotal evidence for malaria drug cures completely, believable.

Anecdotal evidence for serious problems, not believable.

What about the 50 or so reinfected Koreans? So much for antibody help.

It was barely out in China at Christmas. You did not have it then, unless you were in China.

because the ‘either...or’ has not been presented as an option yet. Simply choosing to get it without deriving any benefit doesn’t quite makes sense.

“Golf tempt fate”. You clearly are uneducated on the rules of golf. You would be allowed to drop a new ball with no penalty in your alligator analogy. So, in making your point with a clever made up golf story, you’ve clearly illustrated a different point.

Just thought folks might want to read up and know more about risks before making their decision, for themselves and the 12-100+ other people they will infect.

Then why present the option.

I think you are scared.....LOL.

My previous business was as a collegiate sports photographer. My peers stopped working in February and won’t work again until August at the earliest. I understand your pain. But, this is going to go on for a while.

Umm... Hell no? Yeah, I’ll go with hell no.

I’ve already had influenza B in the last 5 months, I don’t have the slightest desire to roll the dice on the disease.

I am still waiting to hear from a Doctor as to whether or not you will have even a chance at immunity after such a treatment.

If you are not immune after treatment, then this exercise was just a waste of what could have saved someone else’s life, in such a case.
