Any FReepers with COVID-19?
Ive heard a couple today.
Thought it might be good to have a repository of experiences.
Headache, funny taste and backaches are symptoms. Although I think the funny taste/smell is fairly rare. The other two are seen in 50 to 60% iirc.
Praying for a friend of ours. She was admitted to intensive care Friday and they are considering putting her on ventilator tonight. She is in her 50s.
We know of four patients.
Three, here in the Houston area...mild symptoms, one (early 70s) was about to go on vent, but rallied and is now breathing on his own. The other two are in 40s and 50s.
One, out of state (CO) in their late 20s....self isololating at home. Breathing impaired.
Prayers.
Hey Luckstar mom, are you near her at all? We installed Amazon echo devices all through my moms house and linked it to her phone. She can voice dial from any place in her apartment. We gave her a name to represent 911 so she can voice dial that as well. It will also control all lights with smart plugs, read her books off Kindle and a dozen other things to assist with her day to day. You might want to check it out.
The only one I am not seeing is cough. The headache is a primary symptom.
But loss of smell (taste, appetite), and nausea have been reported as early symptoms

I have also seen backache as an early symptom.
I have it. Just outside of Boston. Hospitalized last weekend. Positive test confirmed on Friday
Have been VERY sick for 2 weeks
Weak, tired , dizzy, no appetite. Diarreah for two weeks.
Just beginning to feel a little better now
Worst illness I have ever had
Do all you can to avoid it
But you’ve not been tested, so it could just be a lingering cold or a mild case of the flu.
Prayers up, for you, FRiend.
Thank you for checking in.
So thankful that you are feeling better. Sounds like a rough road.
Hang in there, know that you’ve got Friends praying for you and....keep us posted.
Any idea how you may have contracted it?
A few degrees removed - by one of my wife’s kid’s friend’s dad was just put on a ventalator. Friend of the family type. Late 50s early 60s.
Prayer up for your mom.
I was not saying they did not have it, just noting the different symptoms.
It would not be too unusual for elderly to have different symtoms, I suppose. For example, UTI symptoms are very different for them compared to young people.
I’ve ruled out a cold as that doesn’t typically include fever and the kind of body and joint aches I had. Flu seems highly unlikely as that rarely lasts more than a week. This went on for at least three weeks with symptoms varying frequently. Am I 100% sure it was COVID? No. But it is by far the most likely explanation.
Brilliant
My 2.5 year old niece just received a positive diagnosis. She was born almost 4 months premature so she had underlying lung issues at birth. She had a fever and cough about a week ago, and her parents were shocked by the positive result. No one else in the family (2 parents, 2 school aged siblings) have any symptoms whatsoever, despite them having all been together 24/7 for the past 2 weeks. She is back to normal as of today. She is in Pennsylvania.
Thanks for sharing. Glad you are feeling better.
Niece taken by ambulance to local hospital. She has all of the symptoms. It will be two days before the Corona test report comes back. Very sick for past week or longer. Shortness of breath. O2 via cannula. Confirmed cases in same hospital.
From NYC, my 2 nieces have got through the China Virus. They said they kept calling their doctor, who monitored their symptoms, they took reading on a virus, and one is back to her self, the other is coming back to a normal state. Makes one wonder HOW MANY cases were NOT reported..and got well... I suppose this is the purpose of this thread? My daughter visited NYC and came home with flu like symptoms, but it was before their was any PANIC... she may have gotten it as well. Was in the same apartment.
Yes, actually every one of those symptoms are symptoms of China Flu....SMDH....do you not read current event stuff?
The smell/taste thing is that smell/taste are absent ....ENT’s in China found this to be a prevailing symptom
