As a long time resident of upstate NY as a kid, I find the [Nazi] NO FRACKING FOR YOU! policy to be ridiculous.
I couldn’t possibly move back there in retirement, though it’s a great physical place.
I’ve just watched the NYS governator’s daily briefings the last couple of days.
Since Trump skooled him a week or so ago, he has stepped up much closer to reasonableness.
No it will be Joe Biden. Cuomo has the same chance of being the Democrat nominee in 2020 as Hillary Clinton. How can Cuomo run for President when New York will likely claim at least 500 deaths from the Cornovirus by the time of the Democrat National Convention? He will run for the 2024 nomination.
Any “won’t be Biden” theory must address the Bernie contingent, who _might_ settle for Biden but will go ballistic - some literally - if Bernie doesn’t take his place.

I believe the law is , that electors cannot vote for both a president and vice president from their own state. So as a practical matter, a presidential candidate and VP candidate will always be from different states.

It makes sense. Cuomo’s daily briefings are probably wowing the left. But the process is too far along. Now I suppose it’s possible Biden will withdraw. That could leave Bernie as the only one left, but without a majority of the delegates needed.

To be more precise, if they are from the same state the electors from that state can’t vote for them.
So the Dems won’t have Cuomo and Clinton unless one changes state of residence, because they’d lose NY by default.
That is why Cheney had to switch his state. Otherwise the Republicans would have been unable to collect TX.
