Only panic I’ve seen here is the butflubros panicking over someone starting a panic.

Their goal is to take guns from non-violent citizens while leaving them in the hands of violent criminals. Yes, they do.

As long as it’s “for the children.”

I have never seen more lunatic, delusional, and fanatic women either running for high office or already in the same in my life.

I hate to say this, but this tyrant claims to be a Republican:

The following is excerpted from a 21 March 2019 interview with willradio.tv.online Illinois Public Media associated with NPR and PBS.

JM: Let me go back to something you touched on at the top of that list. That’s gun violence in Champaign and Urbana, which would certainly hasn’t gone away. Do you do you feel the city is doing a good job of addressing this? And what more would you want the city to do?

Feinen: I always like to remind everybody that we live in a safe community. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t take seriously the gun violence issues. And certainly it is something that as a council, is a number one priority. But, it is certainly not solved. But if you look at the data relating to programs like C-U Fresh Start, it takes many years. We’re in like Year Two And A Half of the program. So we’re not going to see immediate change. We’re trying to change people over time. And we also really need to dig in to work with the (Champaign Unit Four) school district and work with many of our nonprofit agencies relating to young kids. What are we going to do to make their lives better, their family lives better? It’s economic development. It’s making sure people are trained. But it’s also reaching out. We need to be funding programs with the school district that make a difference in kids’ lives. We need to be paying service providers that we asked to get involved and work with kids in the schools. And we need to take this seriously, because the gun violence will impact on everything else that we want to do at the city.

I remember another interview where the interviewer described her as “pretty progressive for a Republican.”

She is just another Vichyite RINO pretending not to be a Democrat.

She’s a long way from the friendly confines and amid a whole bunch of 2A supporters once you get beyond the U of I campus.

The stupid runs strong in college towns. Wonder what the cause could be.

Good question... IMO inattention to detail- failure to watch events in Venezuela, LA etc., emotionalism- failure to think with reason not emotions, and jealousy- one of the oldest and best human weaknesses with which to savage capitalism and individualism are primary movers. The so-called progressive mind is not immune to these pitfalls; in fact, it is probably prone to them.

“Can she countermand the Constitution?”

She can command the police and the police will be happy to shoot you, your family and your dog to keep their paychecks and pensions, then they’ll fist bump each other for being high-speed, low-drag, special operators.

Here is a little background on why I think she decided to play dictator and invoke powers that are likely unconstitutional. The campus town area is now extreme high density. Massive apartment complexes have been built nonstop for the last 10 years. The university has no control over these high density complexes. Cancelling campus classes may not make much of a dent if the virus makes it way into the campus area. This a potentially a big problem for the city and not the university. In my opinion she should punt and play liquor commissioner to keep everybody happy in town if things get ugly...

District of Columbia v. Heller(2008)
It is settled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms that applies against both the Federal Government and the States.

McDonald v. Chicago(2010)
A case in which on June 28, 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled (5–4) that the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms,” applies to state and local governments as well as to the federal government.

Rantoul is a former Airforce base which was closed I think in the 70’s. There probably are a few retirees left there living in the base’s family housing units. My best boyhood friend did until he passed away. With what’s going on there now with that DS mayor they got there Sfc Martin J Kenny is probably spinning in his Camp Butler Veteran Cemetery’s grave.
