Gravity. You messed up at gravity. Very few Americans depend on gravity for potable water. Almost everybody is dependent on large pumps.
If this coronavirus peters out as warmer weather embraces the northern hemisphere, as I think it most likely will, then President Trump will be viewed as the awesome leader that he is, and the Democrats will once again be left with egg on their face.
Then if a vaccine is approved in a timely manner, calm will return to the home of the free and the brave. Well some of us are still brave, and some of us still cherish freedom. 8>)

The level and rapidity of the panic is unbelievable, certainly beyond anything witnessed in my lifetime.
I have only one answer that makes sense. The chinese govt was weaponizing this and it got out. This is why all govts are acting so crazy, cause they know this is a human modified bioweapon.
Thank goodness the chinese are horrible at almost everything they do, or we might be in real trouble......

Rush Limbaugh is the first person I have heard who explained that the reason this virus is called Covid-19 is because this is the 19th version of this virus. This is not something new under the sun. There was no reason for it to get to this stage unless someone wanted it to.

great points and I agree-the bright side of this is the the alarmist have over reached and in the rush to create a panic have created an expectation that there could be over a million US deaths-even some here on FR in the Live Thread are feeding this narative.
Trump’s reelection does hinge on this because they have succeeded in tanking the economy-that was Trumps ace card BUT it might backfire.
Excuse me for talking of deaths in an analytic matter, the loss of anyone is sad and disturbing to love ones. but if deaths come in relatively low, say under the 12,461 deaths in US in 2009 from H7N9 aka swine flu. Trump may be able to play this as great leadership.
If we catch a break like this: it very well may. Dr. Ian Lipkin of Columbia University was interviewed on Fox Business and he was saying that a therapy involving blood plasma from recovered patients was used on 10 infected people in China and that the results were excellent. Ten out of ten were cured.
