The Panic Monster Ate the Grand Plan
Vanity | 03/113/20 | FlipWilson

There is no doubt that the Coronavirus/Wuhan Virus/Wutang Clan virus or whatever you want or allowed by our media betters to call it, poses a real threat. It will spread, people will manifest symptoms and some will die. As of now, by and large, those who are dying, as with most outbreaks, are the most vulnerable amongst us. That could change and this could be the equivalent of the zombie apocalypse.

It can be additionally stated with some certainty, that the Coronavirus has been an emerging issue since November of 2019. Many here and some in the media (named Tucker) noted it and reported upon it with increasing detail and raise an alarm. When it was raging in January, it was obvious THEN that it would be a problem to be dealt with here.

There are, however, two aspects to this story. First, the virus itself and its still, as of now, unknown mortality rate. Second, it is the use of this virus to drive various agendas. I have noticed that when someone notes the latter, they are met with a statement about the former and vice-a-versa It is possible to discuss one without necessarily dismissing or demeaning someone's option and thoughts about the other. Conflation is an enemy the media uses and must be overcome.

I believe that virus is a real threat but I believe with equal conviction that the threat is being misrepresented and manipulated for a sinister purpose to raise fear and panic that I have never seen in my lifetime.

Which brings me to this. The media and the democrats knew about this virus, they knew its potential effects and instead of informing the public responsibly, they simply placed a bookmark on it. They did so because they cared only about impeachment. They did so with a purposeful plan in mind. That plan was to use this as their nuclear option to destroy Trump and distract from the previous failures to do so (and the possible ramifications therefrom). All else did fail and they set about to nuke the economy, regardless of who got hurt. The next phase was to engage the amnesia button.

The plan was to sow only enough panic to destroy the economy and then immediately pivot to talking about the bad economy AS IF THE CORONAVIRUS NEVER HAPPENED. The second that bad economic data hit, the arrogant and dangerous fools at CNN et. al. would immediately ignore the Coronavirus, as if it never happened and pivot to blaming the economy on Trump's policies.

"Coronavirus, you mean the beer, corona of the sun, what is this virus of which you speak? We are here to discuss Trump's bad economic policies." I could see it now, F. Chuck Todd laughing condescendingly that foolish arrogant laugh at a guest who tried to point out the virus as the cause of the bad economy. "Lol, where did you get such fantasies."

It is no coincidence that all the closures and cancellations are timed to end early April when the economic data on March will be available, data likely showing a slowdown in the economy.

Such a great (and predictable) plan and one that has gone off of the tracks.

They sowed panic alright, but the democrats/media have sowed said panic to a fever pitch. If the Republican Party can be said to be the stupid party, then the democrat party can equally be said to be the party of hubris, a party that constantly overplays their hand. And in their hubris they lost control of the monsters known as panic and fear.

As a result, events and institutions vital to the American emotional psyche started being cancelled or delayed with little assurance of resumption. These are events and institutions that everyone cares about and has a deep emotional attachment to. March Madness, the NBA, your kids School and Activities, the local gym, the local parade, etc. (the list is becoming limitless).

Worse than the cancellations are the downstream effects, real and imagined. The possibility for damage is bohemeth, at least in the minds of a panicked public. There is even a belief that gravity will stop providing water to your tap. As if gravity can catch a virus. Stock up on the bottled water!!! The water will stop flowing or catch a virus. Get that year's supply of paper products cause, you know, when things go sideways, one tends to over defecate.

With this level of panic, however, the crisis sure better meet the measures being taken to curtail it. Moreover, with this level of panic and the historic level of interruption to American lives, the crisis had better not only be real, but of such a nature to have warranted this level of destruction to American life.

Hence the overreach and why the democrats are now, suddenly realizing that they are up a creek. It is hard to pivot to discussing the Trump economic policies or his handling of this crisis when you have placed it on the level of a World War. It is hard to pivot to taking about a ruined economy, while engaging in the usual 1984, Orwellian tactics that ask the American People to pretend that the economy just suddenly crashed and it always was going to. There was no virus. While I agree that amnesia is something that afflicts the electorate, a fact the media knows all too well, this time it is hard to use that when the interruptions to American life are this far reaching.

The American People look to their leaders for stability in times like this and Trump happens to be in the White House. Attacking the one guy who can fix this, like him or hate him, does not go down well with a panicked and fearful public.

You can bet that some who are slow on the uptake or just blinded by rage will sure try anyway. They are programmed and cannot be moved off of their derangement. The New York Times, the WaPo and the rest had their stories written a month ago. They were busy stockpiling them like a prepper stocks ammo and rations.

One can see the clues to their true intentions seeping out. Reuters: "Trump mishandled this when he called it the flu." The NYT: "Suddenly Trump's reelection changes are not so bright as the economy drastically slows." The Atlantic: "Trumps Presidency is Over." Nancy Pelosi going ahead with her plans to sneak her abortion wet dreams into a needed relief bill, the democrats favorite tactic in times of crisis.

Rest assured that these are not new stories or legislative wish lists. They had these in the can the second impeachment was winding down and they decided to push the "nuke the country" button.

Here we are and the question is this: When this is over and the real data on the virus is available, will the level of panic and fear induced by the media have been warranted? I am placing what I consider to be a safe bet on the answer to that question being "no." The next question is, what will we do about it? What will we do to the people who have set us up for a dress rehearsal for martial law and probably crushed our economy?

We know that the authorities won't do anything. The same villains who pimped Russian Collusion are behind this and they will all receive a nice "decline to prosecute" summer present. But, I wonder what some citizen will do who has lost their job, their house and more in the name of "getting Trump."

There does come a point when business as usual jumps the shark. That backlash, and not this virus, is what has been somewhat fearful.

Pumps push water up to an elevated reservoir atop a tower or hill to provide a limited reserve, which is available in a power failure. The typical pump is a centripetal design which functions properly only in a narrow band centered around a certain rate of rotation.

Quite often the pump is switched into service in an on or off mode based on a low-pressure activated trip switch. It delivers either full capacity or no output. Some installations possibly have a diesel engine powered auxiliary reserve in the case of an electrical system failure.

It is possible to use a positive displacement pump for water delivery, although this is typically found primarily in small installations driven by solar or wind generated electricity, coupled with a battery bank backup. This pumping approach requires a much more elaborate control system.

Brookshires in Pottsboro wasn’t bad this morning.
Perhaps the malady you describe only affects City People.

Yep! I can only observe that I hope you can maintain such a fine level (for posting) in the future...

The next game (your 2nd or 3rd) is always tougher when you've hit a grand-slam and pitched a no-hitter in your first game...

There are definitely city people in Fairbanks. But Fairbanks is the only place with groceries nearby. North Pole is a little ways down the road, I’m sure it’s the same for their 1 grocery store, however.
It’s nuts. I don’t get it.

great points and I agree-the bright side of this is the the alarmist have over reached and in the rush to create a panic have created an expectation that there could be over a million US deaths-even some here on FR in the Live Thread are feeding this narative.

Trump’s reelection does hinge on this because they have succeeded in tanking the economy-that was Trumps ace card BUT it might backfire.

Excuse me for talking of deaths in an analytic matter, the loss of anyone is sad and disturbing to love ones. but if deaths come in relatively low, say under the 12,461 deaths in US in 2009 from H7N9 aka swine flu. Trump may be able to play this as great leadership.

If we catch a break like this: it very well may. Dr. Ian Lipkin of Columbia University was interviewed on Fox Business and he was saying that a therapy involving blood plasma from recovered patients was used on 10 infected people in China and that the results were excellent. Ten out of ten were cured.

Dollar General in my little farm town was sold out of TP and hot dogs. The check-out line was almost to the back door ...

However, people in line were peeved that schools in neighboring districts were cancelling. Even whole states cancelled all schools. They were all thinking this was over-blown.

Indiana is trying to finish the boys’ high school basketball tourney.

I actually think that the economy will recover from this in short order. This is u like an economic downturn caused by some fundamental weakness in the economy. This isn’t the normal economic cycle.

Added to this is that consumer spending is through the roof right now on the preppier craze.

I predict that the next mischief night is going to be bad with all this excess toilet paper in people’s homes. From coast to coast look out for toilet papered trees and homes.

I wish I had more carefully proofread it. A weakness of mine, when I proofread I see what I mean to say, not what I actually wrote.

no, it is covid-19 because it was discovered in 2019.

Someone else on FR explained it better, but here are more than 19 corona viruses known to man and I believe there are 7 that can infect humans.

The common cold is a corona virus.
