What the hell? No store here in Columbus has toilet paper. I'm not looking to hoard the stuff, I just need to be able to wipe my a**. Why toilet paper???? People must have the stuff packed to the rafters in their basements and garages.
Best I can figure the news about no toilet paper during the Venezuela economic meltdown must have scarred our psyche pretty bad.
It's to the point where it might be prudent for the secretary of commerce to hold a news conference and re-assure folks that there is no toilet paper shortage.

It’s a mystical ritual. If you hang a roll of toilet paper on every window and every door the virus can not pass.

I heard part of the reason is that people think it can be used as a mask. In any case, it seems like people think the virus is the bubonic plague. Overreaction rules the day.
Their stock prices probably took a hit, but at least the grocery stores are making money right now, unlike the travel and sports industries.

Coming from a hurricane prone area where after a storm, supplies could be short, we knew we could use a wet washcloth & double wash those things! Not the best substitute but it is a solution!

The crazy thing is, if you are this concerned about a communicable virus, why would you want to spend hours in line or cooped up in a store with hordes of people? That seems like a great opportunity to catch the virus.

Costco was out but Lowe’s had a pallet of both toilet paper and paper towels.

I don't get that either. Is the coronavirus going to shut off our electricity too? If not then we should be able to get all the water we want from the tap.
