I will say after today’s local announcement in the State of Ohio that schools will be closed starting this upcoming Monday...I’d say we should strongly consider individual states locking areas down starting Monday.
The governor’s announcement caused huge panic buying at the local grocery stores and many people as of last night complaining ...food...was running short in their local areas.
Part of me wanted to reply to them...you were told almost a month ago by the President to prepare, you laughed. You joked. You claimed it is ‘just the flu.’ But then people laughed at Noah when he was building the ARK too. And they all perished in the flood.
My only prayer right now is for God’s protection of President Trump and VP Pence. Please Lord, protect them from harm and protect our Nation from the Pelosi Presidency.
You get arrested and 5 yr. prison sentence in Russia if you fail to self-isolate after being tested or have the virus.

Well I guess People in Russia just might take instructions to isolate seriously. Unlike the jerk in Missouri who went to a father/daughter dance.
If massive lockdowns are occurring on about day 22-23 in other countries, that means we may have 7-8 days before we see major lockdowns and quarantines here. That would put us at March 19th or 20th.

Here’s a thought - the Flu infects and kills a lot more than the Great Dem Hope Virus is on track to do - why not just go into total lock-down every Flu season and really save some suffering?
A common theme in these home remedies is to raise the body core temperature. Though with pneumonia it might not be wise to increase humidity. Depends upon the environment.
For many years of living in the desert, I always came down with something during the change of seasons, when the weather was simply gorgeous and temperate.
Turns out the air was so arid, my sinuses tended to dry out, then with pollen in the air, sinuses would become inflamed, but dried out mucous tends to clog the sinuses, then the body is unable to naturally discharge impurities. Head cold symptoms developed, head aches, sore throats, itchy eyes, etc.
I discovered simply running a baby humidifier on my desk, half the day, solved the problem and haven’t had the hay fever since.
Nothing in the article mentions population densities or hygiene standards, two big factors.
It seems a logical thing to do is for those who are particularly vulnerable, to self quarantine until a vaccine is made available. This would “flatten the curve” to prevent a health care overload, and as most of those vulnerable are likely retired, would not affect the economy as much.
Bump for later
Your comment reminds me of a quote from Mark Twain: "No man's life, liberty, or property is safe while Congress is in session."
Sounds like a sauna. 100 degrees and super low humidty
This all changes when a vaccine becomes available. first it will go to the VIPs (politicians), Then hospital workers, then first responders, then at risk population and lastly the general population.
So where are you on that list? Considering that it will at least be 2 to 3 months before a vaccine comes out of trials, and then production has to be spun up- how long before you and your family get your shots?
Same here. Looks like maybe 50% of Freepers are, but I’d bet much less than that are in the rest of the US.
Sounds like most of us will have already had the virus before a vaccine is available, which would nix the need to take it. If I haven't caught Corona before a vaccine is available, I'd likely then take the shot - probably will be mandatory. :)
Agree it would flatten the curve, preventing a health care overload and will lower the CFR greatly. As for the effect on the economy, I think it will have a long lasting effected economy. And in many ways for the better. We're all going to come out of this with the realization that some things we need to make for ourselves - like healthcare products.
Some schools do.
Amen!
...Germany has banned all exporting of medical supplies, (hoarding). The EU Commissioners are livid for this as the idea was all 26 nations would cooperate.
...France's Pres. presenting plan for enhanced border checks throughout the EUSheng.
...Russia will arrest/a 5 yr prison sentence to any who break self-quarantein when advised to do so.
India has, and China is threatening to ban the US.
I'm torn between this is a much more serious disease than they're letting on, or a plan to take over the world by someone(s)! Or, perhaps just never let a crisis go to waste?
My gut tells me this is going to get even more interesting.
