The Supreme Court could soon overturn the temporary protections for people who came to the country illegally as children.
President Donald Trump will consider protecting Dreamers who came to the country illegally as children as part of a larger immigration deal later this year, thrusting the contentious issue into the heart of election season, according to five people familiar with the situation.
Trump told Republican senators at the White House Thursday that he will punt on a proposal until after an upcoming Supreme Court ruling that could overturn the temporary protections for Dreamers the Obama administration implemented, known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
During a White House meeting on Thursday, Trump told Republican senators that he wants to get something done to address "the underlying problem," but only after the ruling, said Sen. Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Judiciary Committee and a close Trump ally who attended the gathering.
"The take away for me is if the court rules in the president's favor, we're not going to allow these folks to have their lives turned upside down, but we will try to put together a package that protects the DACA population," Graham said, adding the package will also address "how the system is so broken."
Trump has tried for years to use protections for Dreamers to try to strike an immigration deal with Democrats in exchange for his more hardline immigration priorities but all his attempts have failed.
Several other Republicans attended the meeting, including Sens. Mike Lee of Utah, Ted Cruz of Texas, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Martha McSally of Arizona, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri and David Perdue of Georgia.

Show us where Trump has ever told the people who elected him (not all of whom are conservatives) that he is even considering deporting the dreamers who do not have felony or extensive misdemeanor convictions.

So isn't the whole point behind the issue before the court is to turn their lives upside down? He went to court to remove the protections. Now he wants to put protections back? Doe he really think the Democrats, much less the Republicans, in the Senate are interested in taking it on?
I’d like to see a fair deal:
Deport all illegals. No exceptions.
Those we have to move out will be charged the costs of enforcement, if they have any assets.
Those who leave on their own before ICE gets there can take whatever they own if they leave the country at their own expense and never return.
Those who are deported will be permanently barred from reentering our country for any reason - ever.
He will lose if he gives Amnesty to Daca .

In sane world then non-English speaking “dreamers” (nearly half) would have to return to their country of birth immediately.
The English speaking “dreamers” who have steady employment could apply for citizenship but would have to get back in line.

Unless the law is changed to accommodate them, illegal aliens cannot apply for citizenship.
They would have to go home before they are deported so they don’t have a record and apply for proper entry and wait their turn.
