So many FRiends had expressed concern about me going on a crowded cruise ship due to Corona Virus Disease (covid), I am posting a post-cruise report here.
Of course, we are all individuals and like different things. AT one time I liked golf in a private golf club more than sex lol (it lasted 4.5 hours each time).
I too wouldn’t try to get infected, but I do think that anybody who gets it now is lucky, relative to those who get it in 3 months. After 9 months I expect we’ll have treatments that are effective.
Taking vit D requires taking vit K...
Probably cheaper than alcohol wipes too... if they could find them.
I like Carnival Cruises. We went on the Ecstasy maybe twenty years ago, out of Miami to Cozumel, Grand Caimans, and Ochoa Rios. We learned to blow off the formal dinners. Even the late sittings broke up the day too much. We would rather spend the time on deck or at the pool. With all the free food, the midnight buffet, and the 24 hour free snack bar, going hungry was not a possibility. I had my suspicions about whether the roulette wheels were somehow fixed, after seeing too many unlikely wins and losses there. The entertainment was good, but my favorite was the late night cabaret held every night in a small theater near the stern with usually some type of magic show thrown in.
Thansk for that- didn’t know that till today- I’ll be sure to include that whenever i suggest it in the future
Airline travel scares me more than cruise ship travel. For simple reason you are breathing in re-circulated air all the time, while on a ship there are plenty of outdoor amenities and spaces. If you buy a balcony cabin, even more fresh air!
Glad you had a good and safe trip.
My wife had to fly U.S. to Europe for a week mid Feb to visit a dying relative. She said she was the only one wearing a mask on the flight out; she and 1 asian woman wore them coming back.
I have pulmonary issues and generally wear them on planes because I don’t need to breath the recycled air of everyone, plus people tend to leave me along.... (: >)
On one flight the strap on the mask broke and a guy behind me was wet-coughing incessantly. I “borrowed” a white napkin from first class and wore it as a bandanna, much to the bemusement of the flight attendants...
Excellent information, thank!
I sing and dance with the serving staff at dinner, love it.
Like you, I have a fear of people coughing nearby, which is why I am avoiding air travel as much as possible. We are in Florida, and we drove to Seattle for daughters law college graduation and stopped in Phoenix on the way back! Longest drive possible in mainland USA! But we had dog with us which is main reason to drive.
That was every night at dinner time on the Carnival ship! Great fun.
We like Carnival too but won’t turn down a great deal from either Royal Caribbean or Celebrity.
Full disclosure: Yes, I am a travel agent and own my own franchise. So if anyone wants to see about great deals just Freepmail me. </end of shameless plug>
All I can say is that I know of someone who has a cruise scheduled in a few months. They claim they have forked out over 9000.00 dollars.
“(it lasted 4.5 hours each time).”

I won’t ask if you meant the golf or the sex there!
Tried golf once, that was enough embarrassment for me.
LOL!!
The deals are mainly very short term but also for very long term though not as cheap as short term.
3 months ago a Norwegian cruise ship itinerary was cancelled at last minute scheduled to go to Cuba, and we paid $100 for a 5 day cruise very short term notice price, plus port charges and tips of course.
The wife and I are supposed to cruise out of Miami on the RCL Symphony. I’ve REALLY been looking forward to being on this ship. I hoping things don’t get too crazy in the next few weeks.
Good to hear you enjoyed it. We’ve cruised Carnival as well and always had a good time.
Bummer.
I established me a regular route, walking around the ship with regular
beer stops, thumping butts into the ocean and looking at the ladies.
Good times.
You will have a great time, and spend as much time outdoors as possible. Cruise ships are kept cleaner than your average restaurant, public gym, movie theaters, public ground transport, etc. If you get a cabin with balcony, you will be breathing fresh ocean air more hours.
