A woman has sparked a lively debate online after running a poll on whether women think it's 'sexier' for their partner to be the financial breadwinner, or split the bills with them.
Juliana Stewart, from London, who has been married a year, took to her Twitter account @JulianaStewart_ to ask other women whether they preferred a traditional or modern approach to relationships.
She wrote: 'Ladies, what's sexier?
'A 50/50 relationship is when you split the bills, date nights, holidays, living arrangements, everything. A man who provides means you can work if you want to but don't have to, he knows how to hold it down.'
And while followers replied with mixed responses, the surprising poll results showed that 63 per cent of women out of the 4,000 asked preferred a 'man who provides'.

I wonder how many men-hating females answered 50/50.
LOL!!
Sexy or not, I provide for my wife and children.
I have financially supported my wife for all but one year of our 23 years of marriage that has seen her stay at home and raise our 3 kids, and I have one more child that I financially raised.
I expect my wife to get a fairly significant inheritance when her mother passes away. I’m thoroughly convinced that nothing will change for us financially, but her 1-3 million inheritance will be hush hush, none of my business.
Will be interesting to see how that affects our marriage. I plan on giving her half the bills when that time comes...

Women want all the entitlements of the 1950s, without any of the obligations....
For those particular females I think it would be sexist of them not to totally support those boyfriends they shack up with...
The question isn’t “Which is sexier?”
The question is “Is the man able to?”
The burden of taxes has increased to the point that, frequently, the wife HAS to work.
Very well said.
“In marriage everything the man earns is for his family.”
Not for me. Not anymore. I’m tired of paying my wife when she doesn’t do jack to support herself. The only reason I still do, is because it’s cheaper than getting a divorce.
I would recommend against marriage without a 50/50 split and a prenuptial agreement. I’m tired of seeing men getting screwed.
Hahahah, I NEVER fail to laugh aloud when I see that graphic!
So she’s treating that inheritance as hers alone? Did you sign a pre-nuptial agreement? Hhhmmm

You clearly don’t have a good marriage or love your wife.
Not a criticism, just an observation. What you say makes sense for you.
I’m talking about a Godly marriage, and even those fail because we are human.
Hubby supporting the wife is a choice that has to be made early, and unless the couple has children right away, it's not a choice society will validate.
Yep. At a dinner date...
She - "Let's split it" (thinking to herself 'I hope he is a gentleman and he treats')
He - "Sure" (thinking 'hmmm, I wonder if I should treat her. Does she really expect me to treat? Want me to treat? Will I be a cad if I let her pick up half? What will she think of me? I better play it safe and 'go woke' on this.)
She - (thinking - what a loser. He didn't argue with me picking up half. Dump him.)
He - (thinking - I hope she thinks I'm 'woke' by letting her pay half)
I can only assume at this point, but I figure that is “hers”.
That said, I’ll say if that is YOURS, then half of this bill is YOURS too.
I’ve spoiled her pretty good, and she doesn’t even know it. All of her friends work, though she doesn’t.
I’m not bitter about it at all, but it is what it is.
Nailed it!
Married for going on 22 years now, my wife makes considerably more than I do, and I make pretty decent money myself.
That said, I do the vast majority of the cleaning, laundry and cooking.
I do so happily! I take care of her and she takes care of me!
Something similar just happened to me. She wanted me to pay for the mattress, of all things.
I suggested she institute a toll.
