There’s probably a gazillion other Obama Admin initiatives in every agency set up to bankrupt this country. I wish Trump’s people had been working a bit harder to get rid of this junk. But good on ‘em for finding this one.

Uh, so if this person is a citizen entitled to his/her/them/they contributions, how did they become a citizen. Didn’t we once have a speaking english component for qualification to be naturalized? Time for somebody to start looking for that pony in the stall full of manure.

The one freebie missing from the gargantuan list of free stuff illegals get handed to them is, mandatory Englist education. If they don't learn it after a few months then deport them. The ability to communicate in English is a requirement of the Naturalization process.

Applicants must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English words in ordinary use. Some applicants may be exempt because of age or mental condition.

Calling them all as having a mental condition for exemption is not a valid excuse.

Jeez, stop the insanity. The inability to speak English is NOT a reason to deny benefits. But it will no longer be included in the reasons to APPROVE benefits either.

But being a CITIZEN most certainly should be a qualifier.

Why was the inability to speak English ever added as a reason to collect in the first place.....

To provide an incentive for more third world immigrants to be brought to the United States.

If you can’t speak English you are not a US citizen and should not receive any type of SS

I knew a guy once, who was an EMT in the NYC area and he said when they’d get to an accident scene, everyone was speaking English and telling what happened.

Soon as the police showed up it was *No hablo ingles* and they’d have to get an interpreter.

He didn’t believe for a minute that someone who has been in this country for any length of time didn’t know English. He said they were usually faking it.

And so, if they know that inability to speak English absolutely qualifies them to receive SS benefits, of course they don’t know it.

“””As a former administrative law judge described it, if a claimant were 45 years or older, limited to sedentary work, and claimed an inability to communicate in English, they were a “slam-dunk for benefits.”

That is true even if those applying for benefits reside in an area, such a Puerto Rico, where English is not the predominant language.””
So you speak your own Puerto Rico and just because you live in Rico in stead of the mail land you can get SSDI???? That is insane and means everyone in Puerto Rico and get SSDI.....WOW

WTAF?

I was sideswiped last weekend and injured. Can’t work right now, doctor’s orders. Can’t really handle even a short term loss of income.

Where the hell is *my* disability? Hint: there isn’t any. I’m SOL.

A minimal command of the English language should be a requirement to qualify for SS or any other government benefit.

It’s hard to belive just how many bad laws, regulations and processes we have—let alone the bad enforcement of our few good ones.
