Outbreaks confirmed in new countries as Iran’s deputy health minister says he has tested positive for coronavirus.
About 50 pupils and staff at a school in County Antrim have been sent home as a precaution against coronavirus after they went on a ski trip to northern Italy.
The Cambridge House grammar school group are showing no symptoms and did not visit any of the affected towns – but they were in the Lombardy region and were sent home as a “precautionary” measure, the principal, Elma Lutton, said.
Two schools in Cheshire have also taken precautionary steps after half-term ski trips to Italy, with Cransley school in Northwich completely closing and Brine Leas academy in Nantwich closing its sixth form due to staff shortages as a result of teachers self-isolating.
If you don’t have enough food to survive a 2-3 month quarantine you are almost out of time to prepare!!!

Yeah, I have read that but I don’t understand it. So is it a matter of “toilet seat down, sink drains closed, dump a few drops of clorox in there every time they’re opened” or is it a matter of SOL?
From the articles I’ve read it looks like the government is resigned to the fact that the virus will spread through the US. They are only hoping to slow it enough to prevent overloading the health system. Maybe get lucky and the virus fizzle out when the weather gets warm. Or hopefully get a vaccine developed quickly before it ramps up again next year.
I find it interesting that the virus has not yet (apparently) made it to any Latin American country. I’ve been keeping track because my granddaughter is in Trinidad-Tobago for Carnival right now.
1) There is no evidence that this thing is constrained by high temperatures or humidity or any of those wishes and hopes.
2) It’s NOT the flu.

It’s not the flu and flu comparisons are foolish. If we (humanity) cannot contain this, we’re screwed. And every time some place loses containment (Iran, S. Korea, China, maybe Japan, maybe Italy, …) it gets harder for the rest of us.
People comparing this to the flu make it harder to contain, too.

They said retailers like Walmart and Target could start running into inventory issues with products coming from China. Duh. They did not mentioned empty shelves. Their statement would be true if it happened with even one product.

So they committed economic suicide? He’s good, but I don’t think he’s that good. Getting the second largest economy in the world to collapse in a few weeks would be impressive. Although, to be fair, people have been saying the Chinese economy was on the verge for some time.
A lot of things are stated on threads. It doesn't mean they are true.
People keeps saying things like that like it means something.
Flu is widespread among the population with millions infected. This coronavirus is still limited. The issue is what happens if it becomes widespread. Comparing current stats to the flu is irrational.
I think the release was an accident, the result of Chinese incompetence, but the use of the virus - to create hysteria and crash the international economy - is not an accident.
Sorry, but you are talking straight out your A$$! All you nuts do is offer nothing but speculation! This is NOT a pandemic, but you are desperately trying to make everyone believe it is!

RAMPAGES THROUGH ITALY... yet no numbers provided. Meanwhile, Flu A has affected 29 million, hospitalized 280,000 and killed 16000 in America in 2019 - 2020. Don’t hear much about that.
If we can’t test anyone for the CV, how are these other countries testing people?

All modern distribution systems are built around just in time delivery. If you quarantine a modern city for more that 48 hours, everything starts to run out.
