Eh, oops.
What you posted is the first pair of opponents. Can you pick one from each pair at the top of the thread? You’ve just re-posted the Roy pair!

It has been kind of odd, but it's not shocking in my experience that what's considered the #1 song of a year is knocked out by a #7, let's say. After all, being in the top 100 for the YEAR is quite an accomplishment. If you go by what's strictly most popular, then my original '80s poll went even odder (although so far I'm better with the ending, personally). Only 1 top 3 out of the Final 4. How's that? The '70s so far has been the only one with satisfying results, especially in the Final.

TOURNAMENT OF CHART-TOPPERS 1960S PING LIST
(This is a temporary ping list
so dont worry!)
ROUND 6 WINNERS (rank/year/title/act):
4 1964 Oh, Pretty Woman Roy Orbison
5 1965 Youve Lost That Lovin Feelin The Righteous Brothers
Interesting tidbits:
-Consistently high participation - 64 voters, pretty typical this time, in the 60s for the ‘60s!
-MOST VOTES - Oh Pretty Woman
-Pretty much solid winners are each of our finalists. Not absolute run-aways, but I never feared a dead heat re-match.
OK, finally Dock of the Bay is out! Heheh :-)
On to Round 7 - THE FINALS!

Oh?
I like it, but it’s not an awesome song....just doesn’t make me want to run out and dance!
But then same for others?

You people are just too insensitive. The reason he was Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay was because his Pretty Woman Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’.
