Isn't it amazing watching the Ruling Oligarchy at work?

Posted on 02/04/2020 4:08:14 PM PST by cotton1706

Remember in 2012 when Romney was declared the victor in Iowa, so he could have momentum going into New Hampshire...when he didn't win at all. Santorum did.

Same thing.

Whatever it takes to manipulate things so that the "right" person gets nominated.

They tried the same thing in 2016 with Jeb! Didn't work twice.

But Democrats have their Super Delegates (another name for ruling oligarchs) to give them the final say on their nominee.

Isn't it amazing watching the Ruling Oligarchy at work?

This needs reported and repeated on the MSM (which will never happen).

It’s disturbing that they operate no differently than the Chinese govt.

2012 GOP wasn’t really the same. There was only a 30 vote difference between Mitt and Santorum, and at that time the caucus straw poll didn’t actually award delegates.

The headlines were far more important than the handful of delegate difference.

I’ll do you one better than that. Remember in 2008 when John McCain came in 4th in Iowa and Fred Barnes said that was great for McCain (because he hadn’t even bothered campaigning there).

This is true enough but I think Fred said that because he knew the Republican nominee had already been chosen by the Oligarchs.

And so it goes.

I don’t think the super delegates come into play unless there’s no clear winner in the first round of voting at the convention. After the first round, all bets are off. Delegates are also no longer committed to the candidate they voted for in the first round.

You are correct. :)

“...The party has made a significant change for 2020. Superdelegates will no longer vote on the first ballot at the convention unless there is no doubt about the outcome. To win on the first ballot, the frontrunner must secure the majority of pledged delegates available during the nominating contests (primary and caucus) leading up to the Democratic Convention.”

Whether it is repeated to the MSM is irrelevant in every way that it is possible to be irrelevant.

How many millenial age Bernie drones do you know?
From the ones I have listened to (and my wife’s work place was full of them in 2016) the socialists will run their own ticket this year if Bernie gets cheated again.

Which is why I will vote for him in the primaries.

I believe that there is an outstanding chance that the Democrat nominee will come in third in the general.

One of the kickers?
I believe that a lot of the outright communists who make up Bernie’s faction are the people who do the dirty work for the Democrat vote manufacturing machine. They can and will steal part of the fake votes...and if that doesn’t work they just may get those operations exposed.

I love a scorched earth party civil war for the Democrats.

Smells like...Republican control of the house of Representatives.
